Got Tix? for STB50 Monopoly Go challenge

Scrapbooking top 50 Australia are running a 3 month competition. I went in their Amazing Race comp and it was terrific fun.  This one is called Monopoly.  I almost never win at that game at home. Goodness knows what my chances are like for this comp. Anyhow, the first challenge is a kind of pre-challenge. The rules are to incorporate the word go in your title and add a ticket or game card.  My title is Got Tix? and the actual ticket Paul is buying in the photo is on there - a Statue of Liberty one.  The boys all got to go and do this tour but I was too sick unfortunately.

For this week's (week 24) magazine cover at Papercrafter's Corner I really couldn't go past a Disney page. Here is the cover:

Cute huh?  I chose to use the spots and I've got a Mickey on my page. This is a project life style of page.

Thanks for looking.

Create a white, bright layout for Soul Scrappers

My current challenge at Soul Scrappers.

I have come up with a nice, white and bright layout for you to try.
1. Start with a white base for your layout.
2. Add some bright colours.
3. I'd like to see your photo/s matted.
4. Next add some journalling.
5. Get busy with lots of bright washi/decorative tape and ribbon.
Here is my example.

Please have your entry in the gallery tagged with CUCC20 by 3 October. I must have 8 entries or more to award the following prize.

Potter layout for Papercrafter's Corner

Week 23 at Papercrafter's Corner for their Magazine Monday cover is pretty crazy. Take a look at this image.
Reminds me of the test pattern for sure.

Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week 23 Inspiration Piece (image)

There are lots of possibilities though.  Here is what I came up with.

Here was my thinking. First of all, it had to be bright. Second, it needed a big circle shape in the middle. Next, it had to have coloured strips. The paper strips in my weaving pattern have been misted with some strips over the top so some white stripes were left when you took them away. I have woven them with some purple ribbons. The journal tag at the bottom represents the centre title which has blue/green colours and then some strips out to the side (the ribbon on my tag).

The event I'm at was Potted Potter, a show where 2 guys go through the entire 7 books of Harry Potter. It was my birthday present and my family and I went on my birthday to see it. It was very enjoyable.

Vote for my layout please

Good morning friends.  I've entered a layout in the sports and hobbies category of The Scrapbook Awards. I'd love to receive your vote.  Please click here to vote for my layout "Members Only".

Thanks very much.

Two layouts of hubby

Yesterday I had some time to scrap. Yucky, rainy old day here in Perth. I did two layouts of my husband Paul when he was a younger man. One I can show you now and one will have to wait til later. This one is using a photo from 1994.  He's receiving a prize for a course he did.

I've created this layout using Anna's Craft Cupboard's sketch for September 2013.  Go here to check out the gallery.
I've used some old Basic Grey on a black background. The colours in my photo were quite rich with the wood, creams, greens and golds. I've also added some Bo Bunny rub-ons and a G45 tag.

Pool layout for D'Lish

I bought the Just Add Paper Citrus Breeze kit from D-lish Scraps this month because I just loved the colours and the items contained therein.  As it happens there's a challenge using the above mood board and sketch that you can do. I thought I'd give it a go. I had this pool photo of the Bali Hotel I stayed in with my Aunt that I thought would be perfect. I started with some stencil work using green and yellow pens on white card stock. I think it adds a nice touch of whimsy.

Thanks for looking.

Farmstay double page layout for ARTastic

I have made a double page entry for this month's ARTastic challenge. The painting below is the inspiration piece. I loved the colours and the chickens. The cottages are holiday homes.

My entry is of a farmstay holiday we had. We had our own little cottage. There is a photo on the left side page. The tag on the left page is painted and the little house on it is painted chipboard. It was just perfect for this challenge.

I have also added lots of punch art flowers and some little punched out piglets.

This was the perfect winter holiday for our family as our kids were just the right age for it.

Criteria – Quirky and fun – let’s see some lighthearted, whimsical entries

Cyber crop at Mystical

I've scrapped two pages from my copy kat kit for Mystical Scrapbooks today.  Here is the first one. A cricket page, presentation day for Leeming Under 15s 2 years ago.

The second one is of Damon's birthday dinner last year.

All up I got 3 layouts out of the one kit. No paper left but still plenty of other bits.

Head over to the Mystical blog for all the CC details.

15 years - a male scrapbook layout

I'm a Designer at Mystical Scrapbooks. Starting tonight we are hosting a cyber crop with a difference. Donna has put together a special kit and it was each Designer's job to copy that kit from their own stash. You had to get as close as possible and if you didn't have a similar item, you were to try to replicate it. Each Designer has something different to show that they have copied. Check out the blog for more details from each Designer.

I chose to replicate the dot paper. You can see how I did it on the blog.

The other products I have used are as follows:

Bluebell cardstock (Kaisercraft)
White cardstock (American Crafts)
patterned paper that I made using the white cardstock and punched out circles from various papers and cardstocks
Social Club/Swingin' pp (Cosmo Cricket)
Seasons yellow chevron pp (Creative Memories)
Baby Blue ink (Memories)
Trendsetter Decorative Tags (Fancy Pants)
Trendsetter sticker fundamentals (Fancy Pants)
Miss Caroline brads (My Mind's Eye)
chipboard painted green with Kaisercraft paint (Twiddleybitz)
ribbon and ricrac
Thickers Foam - Delight (AC)
Rhinestones - Ice Blue (KC)
Pearls - Bliss (KC)

Here is my finished layout.

It would be great if you would join us.

Let's Ride for Papercrafter's Corner Monday madness

I'm having another go at Papercrafterscorner's Monday Madness.  Below is the magazine cover to draw inspiration from. I realise this is London and all about London but I saw The Eye and just thought of a ferris wheel. I also pulled the colours from the cover to create my design. I also have a little red title near the top. The fairground at the bottom is a chipboard piece that I have painted.

Thanks for looking.

All Dressed Up and Ready To Go

ARCHI-SCRAPS

Here is my Design Team layout for this month's challenge.

The inspiration picture is a beautiful archway/gate. The extra criteria is to use blue, my favourite colour.

I had a beautiful WOW chipboard piece which I knew would suit this challenge perfectly. I then painted it blue. I've also used blue flowers, blue cardstock and blue pen.

I started with a background paper by Basic Grey from their old Kioshi range. BG have some quite retro papers so I knew they would have one that suited. I matched it quite nicely to my dress. The party theme was 60's. My dress was bought straight off the rack at Target the week of the party. Is there nothing new in fashion?

I tore some small pieces from my paper and added blue cardstock to create little pockets of interest. I then embellished in and around these spaces.

I added a piece of Creative Memories Nancy O'dell Gratitude paper behind the archway so our little silhouetted photo would stand out more.

For the title I've used a die-cut of Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue, added alphas and embellishments. Lastly was a journal box and I'm done.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE for this month is my birthday, 7 October. This is due to the owner of the site being on holidays til then. Plenty of time to get an entry in.

Head on over to Archiscraps to join in. There's a great prize up for grabs.
