Scraplifting a layout

Hi all,
This year I made a vow to get more scrapbooking done.  I've not done much the last few years due to my other hobby, singing in a barbershop chorus and quartet, has taken most of my spare time. I have a lot of unfinished projects to catch up on.

Today I've done a page to complete an album (I hope that this is the last page). lol

I've done a challenge at Soul Scrapper's called Lift 67. It involved scraplifting (copying) the layout  below.

As I've chosen to use a 5x7" photo I've had to adjust mine a bit but I wanted a bigger photo for this page. It's one of my favourites. I have it in a frame in my Lobby of my home.

Here is a close up of some detail. That is a paper napkin doily which I have altered with a few different shimmer sprays. Thought it added a nice touch to this page.

What do you think? I'm happy with it.

A pretty card

Soul Scrapper's have a new challenge.
Grab 5 older things from your stash and make a project.
Great challenge. I like it.

Here are my 5 items. These sticker sheets are very old.

This is the card I made. It is for a singing Coach who is coming to visit our Chorus. We will be going on Retreat with her. I wanted to use blue and green for her and took the brown from the circle sticker that is the focus.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day.

Scrapbook layout using ribbons

I love the colour combo of blue and green. So pleasing to the eye.

Here is my entry to the Mystical Scrapbook's Rainbow Comp week 4 challenge.

I loved this sculpture so much.

I have a rather large collection of ribbons. This was a great opportunity to use some. I had been thinking of doing a layout like this recently. Meant to be.

Two mainly orange scrapbook layouts

I have made two layouts for two difference challenges over the last few days.

The first one is for Mystical Scrapbooks, week 2 of their rainbow series of challenges.

No photo description available.

I enjoyed making this layout. Some of the squares are on foam dots so there is dimension. I have inked all of them to help them stand out as well.

The second layout is for Soul Scrappers RW29.

All you have to do is pick one & use it somewhere on your project.
It's that simple!
The theme is month

COLORS

                                                                       2. Caught red handed
                                                                       3. White Christmas
                                                                       4. Green Thumb
                                                                       5. tickled pink
                                                                       6. Any title with a colour in it

I chose #6.

Orange Coloured Sky is a song title.  If you look at the layout above you will see the orange frame from the orange patterned paper on this layout has been used.
I really wanted to highlight the wonderful photo and I think the double frame does this really well. I didn't want to add a lot of embellishment to take away the beauty of the photo.

Cards for Men - Fishing and Father's Day

M is for March and M is for men this month at Unstampabelles challenge blog where I am a Designer.

March - Makes for Men and Boys TWIST Use a Staple or a Peg
Male focused items.

In my family I am surrounded by lots of men. I find designing for men pretty easy. I've had lots of practice and I know they like to keep it simple.

Here are two cards that I made at the same time using a similar style and components.

The men in my family like to fish so the top card will go to one of them and the bottom card will go to my hubby later in the year. He is always reading the news with his glasses on the tip of his nose.

Materials used:

  • 1 sheet of 12x12 brown cardstock
  • Kaisercraft Sandy Toes 6 1/2" paper pad patterned papers
  • Archival Ink - Sepia
  • Creative stickers - Happy Dad's Day
  • buttons
  • grey cardstock
  • moustache washi tape
  • mini pegs
  • Creative Memories green sticker - fish skeleton
Hope you join in this challenge.

Cheers,

Monochromatic layout of my kitten

A simple challenge at ARTastic challenge blog this month. Make it monochromatic. I guess some would have a problem with this. I usually like to use several colours myself.  I've gone with a light pink for my colour theme. Choose whichever one you want.

Image may contain: cat

My layout is of my dear little kitten (5 years ago now) after I had tried to give her a bath. That's the one and only bath she's ever had. My arm has not forgotten the scratches.

Let's see what you do.

There are two prizes on offer. The second one gets given if there are more than 8 entries.
