Pink for Scrap The Girls

I rule this Fun House

Here's my layout for Scrap The Girls. It's totally Pink and I have a sub-title inspired by her song Welcome to the Funhouse. She is one energetic lady on stage.

July 2011's challenge is to scrap a Layout using this album cover by ‘Pink’ ‘Greatest Hits….So Far’ as your inspiration.

Choose the colours, design, words whatever grabs you and use them to create your layout, girls only of course.
AND you have to choose any song title or lyrics by Pink and use them anywhere on your layout,
either as a title on your page or in your journaling.

Punky Scraps Ch# 23

Here is my submission for Punky Scraps challenge #23. Lots of criteria for this:
turquoise, red, 3 circles, stitching and photos not of people. I've got the LOT. They also mentioned staples but I don't use those as those aren't photo safe so I've left that one off.
The photos are of the Props Dept of Warner Bros Studio. Full of amazing stuff it is.

RERT - Wk 8 Layout and card

Week 8 of the Red Earth Road Trip is Burnie in Tasmania. We've been let loose a little bit as the criteria was to use paper and layer it. Easy peasy Japanesy. I loooooove paper.

For the card I've done a circle shape and followed through with 1" circles punched from scrap paper, layered a vellum title and a CB piece in a similar colourway. Done.

The layout is a lot of My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary line with some crate paper borders and some extras. Another Prima flower. Now that's two layouts in a row. Wow.

ARTastic submission

I happen to love the colour maroon and I also love hats. Perfect combination for me to try the July challenge at ARTastic this month. You had to use a photo of yourself, monochromatic red or maroon and a hat or gloves.  Guess what, I've also managed to use some Prima flowers. These sit happily in their box for me to admire and usually not much else. Patting myself on the back today for actually using 3 different packages of Prima lovelies in this layout.

What's Up Doc?

Sketch-July-2011.jpg

Here is my layout for Anna's Craft Cupboard's July sketch challenge. I've included 3 photos as the two little ones in the sketch just weren't enough for me. I think it works just as well. The background paper is Studio Calico State Fair. I just love that range.

Published in SNR

I am so pleased that I have five layouts published in this month's issue of Scrapbook News and Review. Is anyone a member of this fab online magazine? If yes, have a look for 3 of my layouts in the School section and one in the Stars section and one in the Favourite Bands section. It's a bumper issue released today. I'm enjoying having a browse through. I can see a fair bit of my time being taken becoming inspired by the wonderful work I'm seeing.

RERT - Week 7 Great Ocean Road

Challenges this week were to create a celebration card using a photo. I've also used this week's secret element of seashells on the card. This is for my Dad for Father's Day in September. He loves to go fishing. The photo was taken in Tasmania. I've cut it into 3 strips.

The layout had to have a 3 word title and an element of nature and be NOT 12x12 in size. Mine is 9" by 13". It's of a Mt Hotham ski trip.

Snowy mountains layout and card for the road trip

Week 6's destination is the snowy mountains. For the layout that means ALL WHITE. Now, there is a challenge, plus use the secret bonus items. These were the chippy snowflakes. What to do with those when you live in Perth, a really dry place. I chose to use this photo Mark and I took last June of the Perth skyline over the Swan River. The river was sparkling so you need to pretent the snowflakes are sparkles. hee hee

The card criteria was it had to be glittery. I made last week's card super glittery so I thought ??? What to do. Anyway, I made another glittery card using some glitter paper and a flower with glitter on the edges. Glitter is not my fave thing as it makes a lot of mess when you use it. I'll have to give these cards to friends in person. I'm sure that flower won't fit in an envelope. ahahaha

Scrap the Boys - Play The Game

JULY CHALLENGE...

This month your challenge is to use TAPE on your layout, this can be decorative tape, masking tape or even think outside of the square and make your own.
You also need to use PLAY in your title.

I've never used tape on a layout before. I chose masking tape but I didn't want to just tear some off and lay it on there. I have recently (last week) acquired a chipboard piece with a tree shape. I traced the tree out on a piece of BG pp. I then used lots of little pieces of masking tape and wrapped them around the trunk. What do you think?
Excuse the photos. They were taken inside as it is a rainy and grey day outside.

Here is my layout. It's of my 14yo's last footy match.

Sorry, I've had to remove this image as it is being published in Scrapbook News and Review magazine on 18 September 2011.
This is also for a Creative Team call at Scrap The Boys. Most of my layouts feature boys so it is something I would dearly love to be a part of. I think I could add something a little different too to their Creative Team. Wish me luck!

Mmm chocolate layout

I had created this layout for the July challenge at Out Of The Hat. Criteria was use a doily, white space and a monochromatic colour scheme. But I forgot one criteria - a holiday theme, so it was ineligible. I have now submitted it to the August/September competition at Lime Tree Creations where the theme is open.

I've also added this to The Lollipop Ladies (www.thelollipopladies.blogspot.com) August challenge which is biscotti plus texture.

July's From Screen 2 Scrap reveal

From Screen 2 Scrap has the July's movie inspiration up. It is All About Eve. Here's the poster.

The criteria was:
4 different coloured arrows.
1/2 or 1/4 of a face
Hearts

Here is what I did.

I have silhoetted 2 of the photos as the poster has that too. The 4 coloured arrows are showing the rocket trajectory. The heart was in the title We Love Space. That was the tricky part of using this theme. The 1/2 face is the top left photo of the astronaut.  These photos are at Kennedy Space Centre. I was lucky enough to purchase a Scrapbook pack in their massive store. I've also used some BG star rub-ons.

Why not give this challenge a try? The prizes are shipped internationally so that is no reason not to have a go. If you do happen to place an entry at my prompting please let Shazza know.

Thanks for looking.

Week 5 - Dunk Island layout and card

Week 5 on the Red Earth Scrapping road trip is to Dunk Island.
Criteria is for the layout to have 50% blue and be on a water activity. The card was to have a tropical feel, in either colours or topic. I've included the bonus item of a chippie butterfly on the card. I've painted it and Kindy Glitzed it.
