Turkish Delight is yummy

The Lollipop Ladies Challenge # 46 is Turkish Delight plus squares. You have to make a card. I needed to make my Mum a card today so I decided to theme it to suit this challenge. I also ate a Turkish Delight today so it was already on my mind. I reallllllly love them. The image of the lady and the teapot are from a Grace Taylor Vintage paper pad which I have fussy cut. I also stamped the Mother image, fussy cut and coloured it.

2 birthday cards

The Day 84 challenge at 365 Cards is : Today's challenge is to create a Clean & Simple card using only 1/3 of the space provided.  The card size and theme are entirely up to you.

I've actually done two cards as I liked the design so well.

Clothes Swap - layout for Mad About Scrappin

Mad About Scrappin's May sketch challenge was spotted by me on Facebook.  Here's my take on it. I had to flip it to suit my photos. The sketch is shown below. I've used mostly Kaisercraft, with some Cosmo Cricket as well.

About twice a year I get my girlfriends to go through their closets and have a sort out. They come over and bring their clothes and shoes they no longer want and we each go through and see if there's anything we want to keep.  Whatever is left over I take down to a local charity. There are usually 8 or 9 bags of goods left over. Everyone enjoys having a get together as well as the chance to gain something "new" for their wardrobe.

SNR publication

I have 2 layouts and 1 card published in today's release of Scrapbooking News and Review magazine.

The card is in the doily section and it's called "Have your cake and eat it too".

One layout is called Purple and is in the What I Wear section.

The other layout is called My Eyes Adore You and is in the Blue section.

If you have a subscription have a browse through. There is always lots of great inspiration in there.

Treasury

I've created this layout of the U.S. Treasury Building in Washington D.C. I worked for the Western Australian Treasury Department for 5 years. It was one of my first jobs and I made some great friends there. This building is rather more impressive than the one I used to work in.

I really wanted to have a $ sign as my S in the title. I just used a slash and put it over the top of an S. No company seems to make a $ sign. I've used red, white and blue of course and added in some craft to make the wall plaque, which looks like copper to me, stand out.

This layout has been entered into the Guest DT's challenge at Soul Scrappers this month, which was set by Natalie Elphinstone. She made it real easy for me. All I had to do was hand journal. As I do that on every single layout I chose to do a page in my Washington travel album. This may be almost the last page in that album, so that is a happy thing.

NYE 2011

Here is a layout I did yesterday for Soul Scrappers International Scrapbooking Day competition number 2. I told my husband that it was still NSD in America so therefore I should do some (more) scrapping. I really have got a lot done this weekend.
This will be the last page in my 2011 Family album. I did take some photos of all the kids but none of them turned out. My friend Kate took these with her DSLR, which is why they worked. Picked out the colours in the photos and used them to make this layout. I've fussy cut the big flower at the top.

Vintage Basic Grey

Basic Grey are running lots of NSD competitions. This layout is entered is their use vintage Basic Grey challenge. I have a lot of vintage BG so I jumped at the chance to use it in a challenge.  Here's my layout.

I've also entered this layout in Anna's Craft Cupboard's May sketch challenge. Here is the sketch.

May_2012.JPG

Products used are all Basic Grey except the bicycle chippie which is Crate Paper.

Papers:

Pyrus/Chinese White
Life of the Party/Paper Straws
Offbeat/Unexpected
Hello Luscious/Dandy
Kioshi/ran (which I have fussy cut)

Also: Oxford element stickers and Picadilly alphas

A dancing double

Scrap Boutique's May 2012 Stash Stomper is to use alphas as a decorative element. I've based my design around Mark's shirt and the colours in the photos. I've used some chip board American Crafts Thickers as a deco element up the sides. I don't think they look so much like letters done in this way. Quite happy with the result and I've  used 7 photos, which I'm pleased about. This is for Mark's School album.

Love My Boy. A footy layout on Mother's Day.

Yet another sports layout. Another footy one. On a roll today. Unfortunately this photo doesn't do it justice as the weather is not great today, but  you get the idea I hope.

This is for Scrap Boutique's monthly challenge. This was set by Sonia Thompson and her criteria was to have love in the title and for it to be about how you love your Mum or you love being a Mum, or similar. I had to idea of using difference stickers in some journalling. I've done that up the top using stickers, rub-ons and a die-cut football. Mark quite liked that part of the layout.

Ruck. A footy layout.

I am on a roll with my sport layouts today. Do you like my succinct post titles?

This one is for Red Earth Scrapping's May 2012 Stash stomper. You simply had to create a winter sport layout with more than one photo. Easy.

The Batsman. A sports layout.

I'm really proud of my son Mark's sporting ability. He really is gutsy. He's a terrific cricketer. I think this shot I took of him is pretty good too. Do you see the ball? Pretty cool hey?  I've decided to use circles as my them for this layout to emphasise the cricket ball.

I'm entering this layout in ARTastic's May challenge. It has to be an outdoor sports theme and it's based on the painting The Cricketer's  by George Russell Drysdale. It's a real beauty. I've picked up the colours from the painting and used them in my layout.

Something a bit special

Hiya.  I have made my very first ever SKETCH. It was so easy. Why have I not tried to do this before?

Today's card is for 2 things. Firstly, it's for Day 62 at 365 Cards which is to use pink, an animal and patterned paper. Secondly, I'm going to submit the card and sketch as part of my Design Team application for Scrap Boutique, which I frequent every day. I would love to be a Stylist over there. It's a great site.

So, here is my card. I can't figure out how to get my sketch on to here as I created it in Word. Will have to work on that, unless someone can advise me.

Published in May's Scrapbooking.com issue

This month I have had an article featured in Scrapbooking.com magazine. Go here to view it on YouTube. In it I have made my own banner to add to a Father's Day page. I hope you enjoy it. This is a fabulous ezine, well worth a look. Also, it's free. How great is that?

I also have a layout featured at this blog: http://multiphotoscrapbooklayouts.blogspot.com.au/

Fine Art

I do love art. The MOMA in NY is full of incredible art.

I've completed this layout for Red Earth Scrapping. It was a class run by Kate McCulloch. I bought a kit from RES which included Instaframes by Heidi Swapp. I had my eye on these from the last CHA. I really wanted some so I definitely had to buy the kit and have a go. We got to play with paint, which I love. It seemed appropriate to me to use a painting for the photos. I didn't have any friends ones to use so I improvised. The painting had just the right colours to match the kit. I've also used some pretty Prima flowers and a new flowers by Webster's Pages which I got in my win yesterday. It's the mesh one with the pearl centre. Sweet little thing it is.

Let me know what you think.

Also, if you look at my last past, which is for From Screen 2 Scrap, part of the challenge is to use polaroid or instagram photos. I only got these instaframes on Monday so couldn't use them in my DT example, but how PERFECT would they be to use for that challenge.

Car Stack for From Screen 2 Scrap's May challenge

Here is my DT layout for May's challenge at From Screen 2 Scrap. The movie poster this month is from a really thrilling movie called Memento. Check out IMDB here to see the details of it.

I have stayed pretty true to the poster apart from flipping it. The photos were taken at the British Science Museum. I thought they looked really cool. I have all the criteria for extra points: white cardstock, black title and at least one photo to be turned into a polaroid or instamatic photo.

I've used a My Little Shoebox pp for the car and fuel pump embellishments.

Go to http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com.au/ to join in. If you join in for the first time due to seeing it here, please tell Shazza as it gets me points in a DT comp.

Thanks for looking. Happy scrapping.

Palm Beach win

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my happiness today.  I got some great mail this morning. It is my Palm Beach collection win from Webster's Pages. Here's a pic of what I got.

This collection is very pretty in person. Receiving this kind of makes up for the unhappiness I feel at having to leave for the Dentist's to get some work done this morning. At least I'll have something to look forward to playing with when I come home.
