Guest Designing for Stick It Down

Happy news. I was chosen to be a Guest Designer this month for Stick It Down challenge blog.

They do sketches each month, a double page, single page and a card. I typically always do the card challenge and that was how I got offered to be a Guest Designer for July 2023.

I chose to design a page for the single layout sketch. Here is what I had to work with:

I looked at that little rainbow and immediately chose to do a page of my nephew's wedding. They had a rainbow theme. Everyone had to dress colourfully.

Here is my page.

You see the lovely arch with the rainbow colours that they got married beneath. I thought that I would make some rainbow type arches in two corners as a feature. I used various coloured papers and cut them out using Creative Memories oval shapes. I inked each one and added some co-ordinating coloured beads for texture.

I've made sure to all the colours of the rainbow throughout my page. I've chosen to add my handwritten journaling underneath each photograph rather than in a block.

Thanks for having me at Stick It Down.

Thank you card in purple

I like this month's card sketch at Stick It Down.

Here is what I made.

I've been into purple just lately. Did you know that a person who loves the colour purple is called a Porphyrophile?

Scrapbooking challenge, use distress techniques

Welcome to July. One of Australia's winter months.  The photos in my scrapbook layout were taken in July 2019. I was in Borneo, where it was warm and humid.

This layout is created for the July challenge at Archi-scraps.

This is the inspo pic:"

The challenge is : JULY- Distressed

Use lots of inks to dirty it up, tearing edges etc. Make it look as wrecked as this house!

I took inspiration from the wood at the front of the house. I've used distress ink in forest oak and aged mahogany and done two types of tearing of paper. I've added in some wonderful leaf stickers as well. There are some trees in the inspo pic.

You can see that I'm upon a wooden deck, to lift us up a little bit from the Jungle floor. There are lot of mosquitos down there, amongst other things. Also, it protects the environment by keeping visitors on the path.

Come and join us, there's a prize to be won!
