FLOWER LAYOUT for MYSTICAL SCRAPBOOKS challenge

SKETCH CHALLENGE at MYSTICAL SCRAPBOOKS

My friend Kathy and I are at the Fingers and Petals Show. There was an exhibition of work by artists who used recycled materials. There was also a free flower making workshop. BYO scissors. We made some flowers out of blankets and felt and wool and a brooch out of scraps of material and sunshade material and a pin. It was a lot of fun.

Tracey chose to use sketch from Pagemaps July maps for the Week 3 challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks. My two extra photos were a little bigger and I've added some punched flowers along the bottom but otherwise it's pretty much the same.  If you want to have a go at the challenge just head over to Mystical's gallery and load it up.

Cooking up a layout with lots of journalling

SOUL SCRAPPERS - CUCC18

I have just uploaded my newest challenge at Soul Scrappers. Click on the link to go straight to it.

My layout is of a concert I took my brother Dean to. It was U2 and was a really lavish production. We had great views from our seats. They were pricey so just as well. It was at Patterson's Stadium and it was full. U2 had a great big claw for a stage. You can see it in the pic. This set was truly a marvel. Here is my layout.

I've used Creative Memories So Chic range as my base as it had some amazing neon colours that suited the photo of the "cone" part of the stage set. The large letters are also CM monogram stickers. I have listed all of the songs played in the large green circles at the top.

Check out Soul Scrappers CUCC18 challenge for all the criteria you need to enter. I'm giving away a Dream Big mini album. Hope you take the time to enter. Journaling is important.

Scrap The Boys layout - It' All About the Hair

At 15 a boy's style is all about hair. Growing it, flicking and styling it just right. It starts around 13 and goes to about 15. Then it's more about other things.

Scrap The Boys' July 2013 challenge is to use a black and white head shot of your boy. Easy, peasy. I'd been wanting to use a black and white photo lately anyway. This page came together very easily. I love to use hexagons. I have 2 Creative Memories punches that punch out hexagons in 4 different sizes. I used pen to highlight the edges of them and popped up the ones with the circle pattern on them with pop dots. I used only the few colours to create cohesion.

Thanks for looking.

Mystical Scrapbooks Cyber Crop tonight

Hi everybody. This week I started my Designer term at Mystical Scrapbooks. I got to create my first layout for Mystical for their cyber crop, which starts tonight at 5pm, Perth time. This month's theme is based on a mood board. Each Designer created their own mood board in Pinterest.  Here is my link.

2013 July Mood Board

You need to go over and check out the mood board and create a layout inspired by that board.

Here is the layout that I created using my mood board. I actually went "DT kit" shopping using my board.

You can very easily where I got my inspiration. I look forward to seeing what you create. Please do have a go at this and help me kick off my Design Team term with a bang.

The Winning Team - a sports layout for FS2S based on The Fairy

Did the title tempt you to read a bit more?  I hope so.

I'm sure parents of girls will be thrilled with this month's inspiration movie poster, The Fairy for From Screen 2 Scrap's challenge. But, as a parent of boys, here is what I came up with.

The Fairy (2011) Poster

So how did I come to do a football page you might ask? I knew I didn't have any fairy photos to use. I looked at the image of the girl and thought of leaping and then I thought of football. It's footy season in Australia at the moment.  My son Mark is a really good footy player. He joined in the School football team when he was back in Year 6 and they had a terrific year. The first game against Bateman was played in appalling wintery conditions. I goal umpired in my trench coat, wellington boots and a cap. The water was streaming down the front of my cap and down the back of my neck. Mark kicked 6 goals in those conditions, very admirable. Bateman's team contained 6 of his Booragoon Football teammates that he played with on the weekend. Much kudos that week for Mark.

This team photo that I took was put into the School newsletter.

The criteria this month is be inspired by the poster as usual, plus add clouds for 1 point, a white title for 2 points and lots of blue for 3 points.

I think you can see my inspiration pretty easily.

I hope you decide to join in. Poor old FS2S has not been well patronised lately. Please, please, if you can have a crack at this I'd really love it.

Cheers,
Dale

A summery layout published

PUBLISHED

I have had a double page layout called "Fun Friends" published this month in Scrapbooking.com magazine.

It is a fun layout about summery with bright colours. I'd love for you to take a look. There is a step by step tutorial, plus a YouTube video at the link.

Gift Time - DT layout for Archi-Scraps

This building above is the inspiration for Archi-Scraps for July. It's in Kameroon. Crazy swirly, wonderful looking thing. I'd love to see it in person.

I immediately thought of quilling. It's quite an art form. If you google it the stuff people have created is extraordinary. I made two simple little hearts. Think I'll have to do some more in the future. I also added the big black swirl. Plus the fabric flower is made by winding fabric around. So, 3 elements. Here are the products that I used:

My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist/Life of the Party "Love Scallops" pp
MME - Lost and Found/Market St "Lovely" French stripe pp (it's got a glitter border, wooohoo)
cardstock - red, black, white
ribbons - striped and Francheville Passionate
Martha Stewart punch
Basic Grey - Kissing Booth element stickers
black and white fabric flower
BG Sugared element sticker
WP Storytellers - Color Game On
CM Valentine sticker

Thanks for looking. I hope you play along this month. Prizes to be won.
