Concert

Last night we all enjoyed watching Damon perform in the year 8/9 boys choir at the Perth Modern School's Winter Concert at the Perth Concert Hall. He was directly in front of us and we had great seats, only 4 rows back from the stage.

Shaken Not Stirred

I have entered the Kaisercraft online Saturday Sketches for the first time.
I've used Shaken not stirred and it was perfect for my layout.
This is of Damon's 13th birthday party which was at
Indoor Karting.

With all my heart

Here's Paul slipping the ring on to my finger. I created
this layout for Scrap Boutique's CC over the weekend.
Even hand sewed the ribbon to create a pleat.

Boring

I've just been on an SRM Stickers blog hop. I have decided that I have a very boring blog. No fun bits to be had. I must try to remedy this. Perhaps I could take a course so that I can jazz it up. Also, I have noted that my counter is now not working and I'm not sure how to fix it. Nice.

VICTORY

For the first time in living memory the Year 8 Boys Australian Rules Football team has won the Lightning Carnival. The boys successfully played several games over the course of the day to reach the grand finals where they faced Shenton College. As always Perth Modern School was classed as the under dog on the sporting field. However this year the Year 8 boys were simply too strong for Shenton College and defeated them by a run away 14 points to seal the win for 2010.

Well done Damon. He is in the back row under the letter M on the bus. He played well scoring 2 goals.

Scrap Boutique's June Challenge

Scrap Boutique's June challenge consisted of using 3 symbols (at least) and a background of a street sign. This is my interpretation. I'm happy with it and think it is a pretty cool boy's layout.

Scrap Tiffany - Blog Hop

Joe Bloggs - Fabric label from a pair of boys' jeans - inked around edges and ribbon inserted in hole.

Welcome to the Scrap Tiffany Blog Hop. Please start at the beginning of the hop here http://www.scraptiffany.com/.

My tip for recycling is to use tags from clothing on your layouts and cards. There are some amazing tags out there, some fabric, some cardboard, some plastic. Some are already immediately useable as is and some can be altered to suit your needs.  I have included a layout and several cards as examples. Why not take a look at those tags when you next make a clothing purchase and see if you can use them in your projects? Happy scrapping.

This card uses two tags, one fabric and one cardboard.

The Sass & Bide tag is from some lingerie and had a lovely ribbon already attached. These are the materials I used. The flower petals and brad are already assembled.
Finished card.

On this card I have done some stamping and colouring as well as added ABC stickers and paper. The Sari label was included as it came with just a little wool through the hole.

Thanks for looking. I hope you like my designs and feel you could incorporate this idea into your own projects.  I'd be happy to have you as a follower.

Here is my submission for From Scrap to Screen this month.
The poster inspiration was Alice in Wonderland.
I've used a page from the book, Provo Craft Wild Flowers Vellum stickers, Susan Branch - vegetable stickers, Romance Border by Michelle Anderson, Queen of Hearts from Heartwarming Vintage Booklets "Girls Alphabets & More", K&Co notecard, Websters Pages Garden Gala - Tea Time, CM Daily Inspiration papers and title, Fun Kingdom Embossed stickers.

G'day from WA

Good morning all,
The sun is shining, it's 8am. Pretty soon I'll be off for a walk around the river with my friend Lorraine. Then home to bake a cake for the Perth Mod concert tonight. Damon is performing in the choir and his wind band. His performance last night went well and I am looking forward to seeing it tonight.
Have a great day.

June is here

I love the start of a new month. It's very exciting to see who has won the challenges I've entered and what new challenges are available to do. Lots to look forward to. I'm off to take Mark to School, then for a walk with my friend Jayanthi, followed by food shopping.
Hope you all have a fantastic day.
