My next challenge at Soul - male layout

For my next challenge at SOUL SCRAPPERS I have created the following:

CUCC15 Cooking up a masculine layout, canvas or 3 card set

I tend to do a lot of masculine layouts and make a lot of cards for guys, being surrounded by a lot of male relatives has a lot to do with this. I feel like making a layout for a guy can be a little more challenging. With cards they tend to like them more simple but a bit cool.
For my challenge this month I'd like you to create a masculine single or double layout, canvas or 3 card setno girls allowed and no flowers and no pink either.
I'd like to suggest some great elements for male projects and I'd like you to pick at least 3 of them to use.
I'll also suggest some techniques of which you should use at least 2.
ELEMENTS
Arrows, chipboard, stars, punched shapes, stamps, brads, buttons, tags, stickers that are male oriented, bits and bobs from hardware store such as washers, twine, clothing tags, washi tape, transparencies
Papers featuring plaid, stripes, argyle, chevrons, sports, spots, vehicles, tools, abstract shapes
TECHNIQUES
Stamping, distressing, inking, painting, paper tearing, doodling, hand stitching
Another tip I've got for  you is "add more photos". That leaves less space to fill.
PRIZE - Kaisercraft off the page wood album, a Homer tag I made and some green punched shapes

Please do join us at Soul.

Good morning all

It's a lovely warm day here. I've been out for a walk with my good friend Nicole.

Just doing some housework and enjoying a cuppa tea and catching up on the net goings on before heading off to do some food shopping.

Just some heads up if you're looking for a challenge.

Have a look at Archiscraps and From Screen 2 Scrap if you're looking for a photo inspired challenge with a little extra criteria.

Take a look through Soul Scrappers ning site for a lot of variety and a great community. My next challenge goes up on the 20th. I'm giving you some choices of crafting project this month with a theme that if you know my work you'll be familiar with.  Here is a little sneak peek.

Also, if you have the time could you please to to The Scrapbook Awards and vote for my layout Play Hard! Click on the link and it should take you straight to the layout of Mark playing footy.

Cheers.

Orchid for Anna's Craft Cupboard

April 2013 Sketch Challenge

This is my submission to Anna's Craft Cupboard's sketch challenge for April 2013. I picked out the colours from my photo of this beautiful orchid in our Hotel grounds in Bali. I've used a Prima stencil and some paint dabbers (my first time effort). I'm sure I'll get better at it. I've added the perfect flower from D'Lish Scraps. The photo mat is a beautiful and special gold paper. The bottom paper is vellum.

Thanks for looking.

Way to Go - a School layout for WW1

SCHOOL LAYOUT

WHITE + YELLOW + SKETCH (below)

I have made the above layout for this month's White with 1 challenge which is to use white and yellow and the above sketch.
I have cut out two balloons to match the photo and inked them with black so they stood out and wrapped some yellow and white twine around them. I have put the title sticker inside the yellow balloon to match where it is in the sketch.
Do you like my little owls? They are a Nikki Sivils paper. I thought they were appropriate as the topic of the page is smart kids graduating from an extension course.

Best Friend card

Hi folks,
Went to see a movie with my friend Irene this morning, The Host. Nice way to spend a morning.

I've just made this card for Scrapbookit's March/April challenge. Theme was best friends forever. I've added a sweet little birdie and tree, all in felt. Kerryn Lawson's kind RAK of twine is also finding its way on to lots of my crafting lately. Thanks Kerryn.

Have a great day and happy crafting.

Girls - sketch layout at Soul

SOUL SCRAPPERS

Challenge SC63 by Debi is a sketch (see below). Here's my take on it.

I made the white fabric flowers by cutting a circle of fabric with my zig zag scissors. I know pinking shears would have been easier but I don't own any. Maybe whilst at Spotlight next time I might buy some. I then cut a smaller circle of white tulle and overlayed it. I then stitched a button through both. Easy peasy. If you are in Amanda's Swap Group you'll be getting one of these shortly. I made a few extras for myself.

Back to High School

HIGH SCHOOL

Week 13 of Soul Scrappers' childhood memories series challenge is about high school.  I did a double for this. This year there was a reunion (I chose not to go) and some of the ex-students decided to do a tour of the School. These are some of the pics they put on their facebook page.

I've used Kaisercraft's base coat papers, which I really love.

Freaky Socks for From Screen 2 Scrap

I have created the following layout for this month's From Screen 2 Scrap challenge.  The inspiration movie poster is:

FREAKY FRIDAY

(Suggested by Jane)

1pt = Green and Purple cardstock
2pts = The word 'FREAKY' in your title
3pts = A cut out figure/s on your page

Here's my layout : Freaky Socks

It's really interesting when you see something different in another country. I'd find these uncomfortable but I'm sure that some people love them. Horses for courses.

Spooktacular - A Halloween layout

HALLOWEEN - A spooky layout

This month's inspiration at Archi-Scraps is the following picture, plus chipboard. It's a pretty cool pic. I could have gone gothic church with a travel layout but have chosen Halloween.

I invited all of Mark's class to go trick or treating and then come back to our house for a party. This photo shows most of them. They all looked great. I sent them off in two groups with a parent helper each.

I've used the following products to create this layout:

cherryArte Morocco chipboard (the circle that says original)
My Mind's Eye (MME) Mischievous Bewtiching pp
Creative Memories (CM) Hocus Pocus 6x6 pp
Cm Earthy Storybox photo mat
Ruby Rock It twine
CM Hocus Pocus layered stickers
Echo Park Apothecary Emporium element stickers
Mr Huey's sunset mist
CM Enchanted epoxy stickers
MME Decorative brads - haunter
Mrs Grossman's Happy Halloween bat stickers
MME Haunted die-cut
CM purple pen
Kaisercraft lilac ink
