February Archiscraps challenge

February, the month of love.

Archiscraps challenges us with a delightful image of Dublin Castle. It does look like a cathedral to me. What do you think?

I thought of weddings when I looked at the image. I had a photo of a pleated dress that I took and that inspired my page.

I've used Webster's Pages decorative ribbon as my pleated element. You must add a pleated item to your page to be considered for a prize.

Head over to the facebook page to enter.

Thanks for looking.

Add something crooked to your scrapbook page - challenge

Hi folks.

Happy 2025 to you all.

Now that all that hectic festive season is over, perhaps we have time to get into our craft spaces?

If you're up for an interesting challenge, here is one that is nice and easy.

Be inspired by the image of The Crooked House. Add something crooked to your scrapbook page.

I've angled some lime green paper and the photo to make it a feature on the page. I've also angled the wood veneer camera embellishment.

Head over to the Archiscraps community page on facebook to add your creation to the January album. Best of luck.

Layer it up!

What a crazy set of buildings these are!

It's the September 2024 inspo pic for the Archi-scraps challenge. Criteria is to use layers (use scraps).

I made my first creation in my new craft room (had to be a card as I was not quite set up for anything more than that). Moving house is hard work.

I've used plenty of layers and I wanted to add some greenery as well.

Please join us. I want to see what you create.

Put a rose on it

August Archi-Scraps challenge

Here is your guide to this month's scrappy challenge.

Use the pic below and add a rose to your layout.

I have used the colour scheme. There are 5 pot plants along the front of the building. I have added 5 flowers in a row.

I've added a white rose with a similar petal arrangement.

There are also roses on the Webster's Pages embellishments that I have used.

Have a read of the description of this wedding gown. It's very interesting. The gown was also really very small.

Book Nook

Oh my goodness. I love this so much. I want one.

I love to read. We have lots of books. We're renovating our laundry this month. It's a huge space, so we are dividing part of it off and making it into a library. It won't be so magical as this though.

This is Archiscraps' July challenge. The extra criteria is:

Put a large hole in your page with a layer underneath it.

You must do that to qualify to win the prize.

Here is my layout. I wish it was a book one, but oh well.

I cut out a shape on my cardstock that reflected the shape of the roses in the flowers in the bouquet. It also highlights the top photo.

Maybe you can do better, come up with something more exciting. Give it a go hey.

A Christmas scrapbook page

May is going to be a fabulous month with lots of fun stuff happening.

Do you like this classy image?

If it inspires you, let me tell you how you can get creative with it.

I've been on a Design Team for a scrapbooking challenge blog for month years now. It is called Archiscraps. You are given an image and a criteria to include and you need to make a layout inspired by it.

There are several designers who give examples of each month's image. You can view their work, and mine, here.

Then, once you have created your page, go and upload it to the facebook page album here.

I saw this image and thought of Christmas. I loved the gold accents too.

The criteria to follow is: Black/ white/ red /gold and something hanging. (Like a charm or bead etc)

Here is my page. I definitely needed to add some black and I had this great sparkly red cardstock.

I saw the hanging wreath but didn't want to add a wreath so I added a chipboard circle as my title.

I have a few gold accents throughout. I think that the gold banner really pops.

I had a fun tassel which I added using a gold brad.

I've definitely met all of the criteria. Make sure you do. The DT vote on each month's entries and we do make sure that the winner has met it.

Best of luck. We'd love to see your entry.

Double scrapbook page layout

This picture is your inspiration for April 2024's Archiscraps' challenge. Isn't it grand?

You must use brick texture on your layout.

I have a small Prima brick wall stamp. I've used two ink colours on it and stamped it in four places on my double page layout.

Pop over to the blog to see the inspiration from the other Design Team members. Make up your own layout and enter it on the facebook community page. Easy.

Cat scrapbooking layout

Hello all.

Hard to believe it is March.

Look at this really super fun image we have to inspire us this month at Archiscraps.

Criteria is to include a cat (of any kind).

I own a cat so this was an easy one for me.

I've used brown and a bit of criss crossing of papers.  Also added in some foilage. There  is one cat, in amongst the trees. My Georgia. She likes to go for walkies on her harness in my garden.

Get to it. I know I'll love all the layouts this month (or cards).

Christmas double page scrapbook layout

Happy 2024. Hope it is, for all of us.

Check out this quirky inspo pic that Archiscraps has for you this month.  Cute, right!

Criteria below.

Use toothpicks on your layout or card.

Some of the other DT members have been super creative.  For me, it was a chance to use some toothpick flags that I had created a few years back. Christmas inspired. I'm still a bit in Christmas mode to be honest.

Here is my double layout.

I am woefully behind on my Christmas album. Oh, well. haha

Hope you can join in. Head to the fb page to add your entry.

Outdoor Christmas layout

Hello there.

I've created an outdoor Christmas layout for my Design Team example at Archiscraps.

This is the inspiration photo.  Your entry must include a building OUTSIDE.

I've picked up the red and the lights to feature in my layout. Here is it.

I chose to make a little tree to add. I have painted and inked some white paper with red. Then I freehand cut it out. I also cut out a little basket for the tree and added basket weave with pen. I added a little glass star and some Christmas baubles.

Archi-Scraps August challenge

Happy birthday to all the horses.

This month at Archi-scraps your creativity will be challenged.

Here is the inspiration picture to work with. Fancy living in this home!

AUGUST- Use curves, no straight lines (except the edges). Added extra is ribbon.

I have done a wedding page. Cut the cake.

My nephew got married in Donnybrook, WA earlier this year.

There are curves and circles everywhere here.

The background paper has circles all over it.

The cake is circular and sits upon a round table.

There are scalloped edges and curved edges on my patterned paper and stickers, plus I fussy cut that cloud.

I've made 3 felt flowers.

I added a sweet ribbon and tied it in a bow, to represent tying the knot.

What will you do?

Scrapbooking challenge, use distress techniques

Welcome to July. One of Australia's winter months.  The photos in my scrapbook layout were taken in July 2019. I was in Borneo, where it was warm and humid.

This layout is created for the July challenge at Archi-scraps.

This is the inspo pic:"

The challenge is : JULY- Distressed

Use lots of inks to dirty it up, tearing edges etc. Make it look as wrecked as this house!

I took inspiration from the wood at the front of the house. I've used distress ink in forest oak and aged mahogany and done two types of tearing of paper. I've added in some wonderful leaf stickers as well. There are some trees in the inspo pic.

You can see that I'm upon a wooden deck, to lift us up a little bit from the Jungle floor. There are lot of mosquitos down there, amongst other things. Also, it protects the environment by keeping visitors on the path.

Come and join us, there's a prize to be won!

Shoes on a page

Howdy.

A fun challenge for you at Archi-scraps for June.

It's to include shoes on your card or layout. Now, I love shoes. I have LOTS of them.

I chose to use cowboy boots for my project.

I took a fun pic of a couple of my friends' boots at an event that we were at. I wanted that pic to be the focus.

What will you do?

Enter at the facebook page.

Catch y'all.

Lego

Check out this fun pic to be inspired by for the May 2023 Archi-scraps challenge.

I know Lego is so popular. A store just opened to a big fanfare at my local shopping mall.

Here is the page:

When my kids were tiny I took them to an interactive exhibit of Lego in Myer in Perth City. They got to play at tables with tubs in the middle and they had a lot of fun.

I've hand cut some letters and hand sewn some beads on to them, put them on different coloured card and hand "faux" stitched around each one.

Enter your page at the facebook group page.

Cheers,
Dale x
