Sporty Kaisercraft layout

I was so excited that Kaisercraft have their Saturday sketches back. They had a little break in January and I was looking forward to their return.

A terrific sketch this time and I have flipped it so the photos are on the right due to the orientation of my photos.

Here is my interpretation.

KC do some fabulous ranges for boys and I've done a real mix and match from their different collections to create this layout. Both of my boys were in the Grand Finals for their ages at indoor cricket last year. My son Mark played for both teams.

On The Move/Cylinders pp

Cooking up a nature page and matching card for Soul Scrappers ch#CUCC25

Hi everybody. My latest challenge is ready at Soul Scrappers.

For this challenge I want you to create a layout :
  • about nature
  • use flowers and leaves
  • use my colour scheme of purple, green and yellow
PLUS:
  • create a card using the scraps from the layout. You may use cardstock as well, but that is all you can add.
It is a great idea to create a card with the leftovers from your layouts. I'm sure a lot of you already do this. So let's see what you can come up with.
Here is my example:
I have created a simple zentangle using the lilac zig pen I used for my journalling on my layout on a piece of white cardstock to add interest.
You have from 30 January til 20 February to get your entries in to the gallery. Do not forget to tag them with CUCC25 so I know they are for my challenge.

Go to http://soul-scrappers.ning.com/ to enter.

If I have over 8 entries I will award a Webster's Pages Designer Trim prize to someone lucky.

Sleeping Beauty for ch#3 at Mystical Scrapbooks competition

Challenge #3 is up at Mystical Scrapbooks Fairytale Competition. This one is Sleeping Beauty. Every little girl's favourite.

I decided to take my inspiration from the title. I also used Sleeping Beauty as my title. I took a photo of our new kitten sleeping. The base paper has all the colours except Atomic Tangerine so I have added that elsewhere. Paper I used was My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky "Perfect" Lines.

I've added 5 stars and my label has the word heart on it. I've added one blue button sticker as well.

I've also used these items from the store:

pink cardstock, Core'dinations red cardstock
Crate Paper 14 label
Adornit Tiny pink letters
Flourish With A Bling Grace, red pearls
Basic Grey out of print/special feature pp
tan ribbon
lilybee Double Dutch stickers
Echo Park Springtime Elements stickers.

CSI 107 solved - Georgia

Case File No. 107

I just loved this week's inspiration. I took one look at the picture and knew I was going to do a page for it. It's adorable, no?

I knew I had just printed some photos that were perfect. The colours in the photos perfectly match the colour scheme. I've used all five colours.
I've done some black penwork on the artisan pp top left to highlight it. I've made little corners around each photo corner with a black pen and ruler.
For the diamond/harlequin pattern I used a stencil to cut out 4 different papers (the cream one is misted and grey one his metallic sparkle pp) and created a diamond shape. I've used black pen and a ruler to draw lines through the centres to make it look more "finished off".
I've used the pink/red, black and yellow rub-ons throughout.
I had the most perfect little kitten sticker from a Creative Memories page completion kit.

FWAB January 2014 colour challenge

1484166_773453002671723_127973924_n

We get regular visits from this type of lizard. They walk down the hill from the local bush reserve. I'm not fond of them. I know many people think they're cute but I'm not one of them.  I went to go out the front door and this little one was peeping in through the side window next to the door. Gave me quite the surprise and I had to wait to go out til it was gone. Eeek.

I've used a piece of pink paper and a Prima circle mask with Dazzling Diamonds and Delphinium mists on top of a white album page to start. Added some Moda Vera wool which is held on with brads. A few other scrap papers go next.

My favourite part is the Elise antique brown rhinestone swirl. It also came in a pack with extra rhinestones and two pretty flowers.  As this layout is for this month's challenge at Flourish With A Bling I had to use their product, which of course makes it a bit special. You also had to use the colours in the pic above.

Bet they weren't expecting a page about a lizard! lol

Mystical Scrapbooks Competition - #2 challenge

Mystical Scrapbooks Competition
2nd challenge - Goldilocks

Time to start your entry for week 2 of the competition. Here is my Design Team example.
For the texture paste part of the challenge I took a piece of paper and smeared the paste on it. I ran a cake decorating plastic tool that has "teeth" through it and let to dry. Then I took a sponge brush and painted yellow and metallic copper over it randomly and left to dry.

List of products from the Mystical store:

Jillibean Soup/Grandma's Lime Bean Soup/Leek Bulb pp
blue cardstock
Kaisercraft 13th hour stricker sheet
Lilibee Double Dutch/Croquet pp
Echo Park This and That alphas

New Home for Scrap The Boys

We brought home a kitten on 18 December 2013. Her name is Georgia and we adopted her from the Cat Haven. She is for all of us but it is the first pet Mark has ever had. That first day she just didn't stop purring. We had to keep her in the Laundry for a while til she acclimatised. We all took turns staying with her and keeping her company.

I've entered this layout in January's Scrap the boys challenge which is to make a layout about something new.

Thanks for looking.

Mixed media layout for sketch challenge

I tried my hand at a mixed media layout for SC73 at Soul Scrappers.
You had to use this sketch with the added criteria of bling, paint and a 5x7 photo. Challenge was set by Debi Clarke.

I made a School layout based on my son receiving a Science Award at his Primary School graduation ceremony.

The bling is two small metal dots and the sequins on the chipboard letters. For the paint I used texture paste and then applied 3 different coloured paints. I used a disposable glove and painted with my fingers. Then I added the sequins and some mists. I've also written the elements from the periodic table on to the letters to tie in the science aspect of the theme.

Thanks Debi. Another page done in Mark's School album.

Birthday Boy for Week 36 at PCC

Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week Thirty-Six - Inspiration Piece (image)

This week's cover at Papercrafter's Corner's magazine Monday challenge made me think of a slip-in album layout straight away.
The other inspiration I had was to use family as the topic along with a cake and a photo of a happy young child. I've also used the colours, except for pink and purple.

Card for ARTastic

I have created a card for January's ARTastic challenge. The inspiration art is this wall art by Vexta, plus use triangles or diamonds.

I have cut out lots of tiny diamonds from different patterned papers using a stencil, inked them and created a star shape from them. I placed a resin flower in the centre, drawn freehand in metallic pen around it and mounted it on patterned paper and cardstock.

Mystical Scrapbooks cyber crop - my challenge

Last night kicked off a cyber crop at Mystical Scrapbooks. The theme is fantastic - travel/holiday. Everyone has photos from these events they need to scrap. I have many.

For my challenge I have created a double page spread. It is a mirror image one, meaning that the left side mirrors the right. I have 3 photos on each page and have cute two pieces of patterned paper in half to create cohesion across the pages. I've added some complementary strips across the middle to join them together.

This method is a nice and easy way to match your pages up for the one subject on two pages. My challenge for you is easy. Simply create a double page spread or scrap lift the left side or the right side page. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Load your work into the Mystical gallery before the week ends and you may win a prize. Good luck.

Music scrapbook page for Archi-scraps

This is the building for us to take inspiration from this month. Pretty terrific hey? Got to love the Opera House in Sydney.
.

Here is my layout, Ensemble.
I have used a piece of Sassafras Lass Anthem paper as it has the angles shooting in all directions like the Opera House. It also has music notes and piano keys on it. Perfect. I've added some music washi tape as well.

The photo shows my son playing viola in his Ensemble in a competition at his future School, Perth Modern in their beautiful auditorium.

I hope you can play along this month. There is a terrific prize on offer. Go over to Archi-scraps and check it out.
