Guest Design Spot at Soul Scrappers

I invite you to participate in my challenge at Soul Scrappers.  It is a nice, easy one with lots of scope.

I used to run this type of challenge when I was on the Design Team many years ago. It is called cooking up.

You need to follow this recipe to design your scrapbook page.

1. It should be nature based.

2. Please use a punch (you can use more than one if you'd like to)

3. Add a bee or a butterfly

4. Use more than one photo

5. Add dimension

Here is the layout that I have made.

I have used Creative Memories hexagon punches to create a little path winding through my page. It creates movement and draws your eye around.

The bee, butterfly and flower are all raised to add that dimension.

Did you notice that I used the word "soul" in my title. Just a little nod to the challenge site.

Click on the highlighted link in the first sentence to take you to the site. If you are not a member, why not join? There are always lots of challenges to enter and the people there are friendly and the gallery is full of inspiration.

I'm adding a prize.

It is Amy Tangerine - Love Spun embossing folder and Becky Higgins Project Life - 12 photo overlays.

I'd be delighted if you joined in.

Paper folding and lace flower on a layout

 Hello friends,

I've created a layout today featuring my two sons.

I'm entering this one into three challenges.

1. Scrap The Boys  - put a flower on it

2. Stick it down - single page sketch

August Single Page Sketch

3. Mystical scrapbooks - use a handmade textile embellishment

I chose to use the colours in the photos of black, white and red. I have also picked up on the decor at the Restaurant. I have done some punching and made some paper folded napkins out of Japanese paper. Lastly, I have added a hand made lace flower.

Butterfly congratulations card

Unstampbelles' have a new challenge for you to try.

#103 August:  Good News baby card; or any form of Congratulations  - a clear scan; a pregnancy confirmed; an educational achievement; a new job.........

TWIST BUT you must make your own background.

Perfect for those who like making their own backgrounds.

I made a card.

I had previously made an a4 sheet of white paper into a purple and green inked creation for another project.  I had some left over so it was perfect for this challenge.

I used a pretty teal colour card to back.

I cut it into 4 rectangles and then used a ruler and a purple pen to create a border on each one. I also added one green dot in each corner to finish it off.  I had a beautiful butterfly that matched perfectly.  A congratulations sticker and I was done.

Easy.  Your turn. I look forward to seeing your project.

August ARTastic challenge - Spring

No photo description available.

Adrian Feint with The Green Hen

CRITERIA - Feature things that fly in some way

I've used the colour scheme.  The elements that fly are two birds, a butterfly on the tag and a dragonfly.

I really like how this turned out. What do you think?

Head over to the fb page to join in with this challenge.

Guy Stuff

Hello there,

Here is my DT example for Archiscraps.  The challenge is:

AUGUST- Use colours plus a clock and some gold somewhere.

Image may contain: outdoor

Here's my layout.

Image may contain: 1 person, indoor

I've added vertical circles like on the building (punched from gold cardstock, a die-cut clock and used only the colours in the picture.  I've done a mirror image of the shop in the photo. Where the building is black and there is a circle entrance, I've used a lighter colour background with a black circle to highlight that feature in the photo.
