Paper pieced fish card

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month and April Fool's.

It's April.  Time for a new challenge at Unstampabelles.

April - Krazy Kritters TWIST Bokeh Backgrounds

I had to google bokeh. Here is a link to save you time doing it.  Bokeh

I had a beautiful piece of paper by Crafter's Choice from their Minerals paper pack to use as my bokeh background.  As it was a pretty blue colour I chose to make a paper pieced fish, made from punched hearts of different sizes, as my krazy kritter.  Cute, isn't it?

I thought I'd choose a circle shape for my card, just for a change. Could be a bowl with a fish swimming in it.

I cute some pieces of green cardstock in 3 different colours to make seagrass, added a sticker starfish, fancy cut a cloud and added a sticker sentiment.  Done.

Hope you join in.

A challenge about pets

Another month, another challenge at ARTastic where I am on the design team.

This month's criteria is pets and the painting has four cats. The orange striped cat's green eyes really stood out for me.  I decided I would base my layout around that. My cat, Georgia, has beautiful green eyes.  I love this photo that I took of her and chose to just use 2 colours, green and brown so that they complemented her.

An earthy double layout - Stone Cottage

Challenge at Archiscraps

Happy April Fool's Day first of all. Time for you to scroll through all the new challenges for April.

Are you looking for one that puts your thinking cap on?  Try this.

Isn't this an amazing image? Doesn't look real. Certainly looks Roman or similar.

This twist is  we are asking you to SQUEEZE SOMETHING IN BETWEEN.

What might that mean?  Up to you but do explain your thinking in your post.

Here is my example. I have squeezed my journalling on to a box in the middle of the photos/layout. But, this page is also part of a double page set. I have squeezed the title in between the two pages. So, I've doubled up on this challenge.

Here is the double.

What do you think?  I love the green and earthly tones.

Let's see what you do.

Have a great day.

Scraplifting a layout

Hi all,
This year I made a vow to get more scrapbooking done.  I've not done much the last few years due to my other hobby, singing in a barbershop chorus and quartet, has taken most of my spare time. I have a lot of unfinished projects to catch up on.

Today I've done a page to complete an album (I hope that this is the last page). lol

I've done a challenge at Soul Scrapper's called Lift 67. It involved scraplifting (copying) the layout  below.

As I've chosen to use a 5x7" photo I've had to adjust mine a bit but I wanted a bigger photo for this page. It's one of my favourites. I have it in a frame in my Lobby of my home.

Here is a close up of some detail. That is a paper napkin doily which I have altered with a few different shimmer sprays. Thought it added a nice touch to this page.

What do you think? I'm happy with it.

A pretty card

Soul Scrapper's have a new challenge.
Grab 5 older things from your stash and make a project.
Great challenge. I like it.

Here are my 5 items. These sticker sheets are very old.

This is the card I made. It is for a singing Coach who is coming to visit our Chorus. We will be going on Retreat with her. I wanted to use blue and green for her and took the brown from the circle sticker that is the focus.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day.

Scrapbook layout using ribbons

I love the colour combo of blue and green. So pleasing to the eye.

Here is my entry to the Mystical Scrapbook's Rainbow Comp week 4 challenge.

I loved this sculpture so much.

I have a rather large collection of ribbons. This was a great opportunity to use some. I had been thinking of doing a layout like this recently. Meant to be.

Two mainly orange scrapbook layouts

I have made two layouts for two difference challenges over the last few days.

The first one is for Mystical Scrapbooks, week 2 of their rainbow series of challenges.

I enjoyed making this layout. Some of the squares are on foam dots so there is dimension. I have inked all of them to help them stand out as well.

The second layout is for Soul Scrappers RW29.

All you have to do is pick one & use it somewhere on your project.
It's that simple!
The theme is month

                                                                       6. Any title with a colour in it

I chose #6.

Orange Coloured Sky is a song title.  If you look at the layout above you will see the orange frame from the orange patterned paper on this layout has been used.
I really wanted to highlight the wonderful photo and I think the double frame does this really well. I didn't want to add a lot of embellishment to take away the beauty of the photo.
