A retro card and fingers and petals

CARD FOR ARTASTIC AND JOY'S GRAM

I have made this retro card for the challenge at ARTastic this month. The inspiration is Tea Time by stencil artist Michael Duncan (pic below). I've used a Prima tea cup stamp and we had to use a stencil. I've used a Crafter's Workshop one with a metallic violet pen top right.

I'll be sending this card to a friend in the US's Gram who is turning 100. She's also blind so I wanted a bit of texture and height so I've used pop dots, a punched edge and some tissue paper.

May inspiration comes to you from stencil artist Michael Duncan with Tea Time 2012

Yesterday I went along to the Fingers-and-petals-the-handmade-flower-show in Fremantle with my friend Kathy. I made the two flowers below, one from felt and wool (red one) and a pink dahlia type one from an old blanket. I also made a brooch after this photo was taken out of bits of fabric and a small piece of shadecloth. It was a lot of fun. There was also an exhibition and sale. Most of the works were sold by the time we arrived. I've added my favourite piece below. I'm inspired to create more and have lots of ideas running through my head today.

  1. A gorgeous looking card, and how lovely it must be for the lady to be able to feel the textures when she can't see it. Thanks for joining the challenge over at ARTastic this month, using stencils or masks :)
