Booragoon Blues
Here is a layout fit for two purposes, well three really as it is another page for Mark's sporting album. It fits the bill for The Paper Variety's current challenge to use stars on your page. Also for multi-photo scrapbook layout blog's latest sketch.
Mark has a really wonderful group of boys (and their parents) in his football team. He is a joy to watch play and always gives it his all. They've been playing together for their third year. These photos are from the last game from last season.

I like to thread paper or ribbon through this Creative Memories punch I have.

Get Picky #8
Hi ya,
Today I've been to the emergency ward of Freo Hospital. Damon got a knock to the knee when playing footy yesterday. It's only bruised thank goodness.
I also feel down some steps and have bruised my foot. They took an x-ray and nothing is broken so that's good news.
I completed my Get Picky challenge layout this morning. Boy, it's a bright one. It was based on their sketch. The photos were taken in the NY Toys R Us store.

HBTY - Day 82
Caught In a Corner
So you know all that fabulous 12x12 paper that is perfect for scrapbooking, but not always for cardmaking? Well, I disagree - I think that whether it has large patterns/images or fancy edges, it can still make a beautiful addition to a card.
And that's my challenge for you today - use patterned paper that is intended for a scrapbook layout, and cut a piece down to fit a card. That's where the title of the challenge comes from - just cutting out a little corner of it - but you can use any piece you want.

STB - Warhammer
The current challenge at Scrap The Boys is to scrap his collection. That's super easy. Mark asked me to take some photos of his Warhammer 40K collection earlier this year and they needed scrapping. He collections Chaos Space Marines and his Land Raider tank is his pride and joy. It took him ages to glue together and paint.
The WAR part of the title I have painted black and put some rub-ons on. A lot of the colours of space marines are black, red and silver so I've used those colours. He loves it.

Teenager card
I found this challenge over at http://whimsiedoodles.blogspot.com/. It's to make a teen/kid card.
Here is a teenage boy's card using Bo Bunny papers, some Creative Memories stickers and ABCs. I've made some serendipity squares to mount the letters on.

Day 77
This is the sketch for day 77 at 365 cards. I've not read the fine print before doing this. I've looked at it and thought "D". I've created a birthday card for my son Damon, who turns 14 very soon. No white space on the left as there is meant to be but oh well. I've made his card in good time so I'm happy. Can't say I wasn't inspired.

Guilty Pleasures
Haha, that's a winning subject title! That's the challenge at Scrap Tiffany this week. See here for the Design Team's reveal of their guilty pleasures. Here is mine. I made a card. It's an invite to a friend for tea (I don't drink coffee, but they might like to). I do like to take time out to catch up with a good friend over a cuppa, whether at my place, their place or a cafe.

Mother's Day and Day 68
First of all - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! I got some nice pressies. I went to watch my wonderful son Mark play a blindingly good first football match of the season. He kicked 2 goals and 2 points and got man of the match. Here's a pic of the boy in action.
After that we went to visit my Mum. Here's a pic of me with her opening her presents.
Hope all of you Mums out there had a great day and all of you guys paid homage to your Mothers.
Day 365 Cards; Day 68 - You Can Do It!
Here is the challenge:
Sometimes we just need a little push to go after the things we want. Occasionally that means being inspired by someone who is a "go getter" -- someone who's strong, driven, hard-working, etc.
Here is a classic image of just what I'm talking about
This image of Rosie the Riveter really inspires me not to let bad things get me down, and I think it can inspire a really beautiful and meaningful card.
I chose to do a card I can give to one of my boys after they have achieved something really great. I've used lots of word/phrase stickers. I got the original idea from the I Believe I can sticker. It related back to the slogan I Can Do It really well. I think achievements should be celebrated and rewarded. A card is a great way to do that. I incorporated all of the colours from the pic and added a little green.
Get Picky Ch #7
Get Picky's April Inspiration Challenge #7 is this photo and the colours below. You also had to use more than one photo.
My photo has a lot of colours similar to the slate wall in the background so I used a yellow LYB base along with the pretty blue as accents. Here is my layout, plus a close up. I had these left over triangles from cutting the banner so I've used them also.

So close
Good morning all,
Last weigh in day today for the 5 Kilos Scrappers' Challenge. I got so close to my goal of losing 5 kilos. I'm only .4 away. I know that by next week I will have achieved it. Here is my scales photo.
I was happy with the .8 loss from last week. Today is the last day of School hols and I had a very similar week this week to last week. Played Wii tennis, did lots of gardening, ate some Easter eggs. Walking starts again tomorrow with the kids back to School and I've organised to swim some laps with a friend next Tuesday at the local pools. My ultimate goal is to stay below 65 always. I'm sure I can achieve but I know that I will have to work at it now that I am over 40. Gone are the days of maintaining a low weight with little effort and not watching what I consume.
I'd like to thank Karen and Nerrida for their support and encouragement and also to the other ladies doing the challenge. It really did inspire me to achieve the weight loss and for that I am truly grateful.
As a bonus my layout that I made as part of this challenge was chosen as the winner. I have won a prize. So exciting. I love to win things, especially as a result of doing the hobby that I love. Thanks again.

Mother's Day card using Kaisercraft for ARTastic's 2nd birthday
I made my Mum a Mother's Day card this morning. I'm safe as she doesn't own a computer so she won't see this post.
I've used my favourite Kaisercraft collection, Chanteuse. It's just so pretty and so perfect for a Mother's Day card. I've also used a CM corner rounder, CM flower punch and a Martha Stewart punch.
I've entered this card in challenge 1 at ARTastic. This month they are celebrating their 2nd birthday and are having 5 random draw contests. Challenge 1 is to make a Mother's Day card. Very timely indeed.

From Screen 2 Scrap reveal
Xmas 2010 |
the boys |
the girls |
I did a double for May's challenge at From Screen 2 Scrap this month. The movie poster inspiration is "Love Actually". Here is the poster.
1) A Red bow = 1 pt
2) A Journaling Note = 2 pts
3) Add names to the peoples pics that you love = 3 pts
I included all of the criteria. The bow is on the boys' page. I used a big Prima flower on the girls' page. I've used all Kaisercraft otherwise. I like the wooden frames. I've used some rub-ons on them, they don't show up too well in the photos.
These layouts are for my Christmas album. I still have a kids' page to do.
Go to http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/ for more inspiration once the Design Team's layouts go up. Tell Shazza that Dale sent you if you are new to the site.

Friendship
Scrap Tiffany's challenge goes up today. The theme today is friendship. Everyone needs good friends. Where would you be without them. Lonely Hotel, that's where. Take a moment to make a card for a friend to show them how much their friendship means to you. When you are done, photograph it and email it to tiffany@scraptiffany.com and Tiffany will put it on her blog to share with the World. Fun, huh? (p.s. you can make a layout too of course) As I'm a card designer there I've made a card. Here it is.
I've made lots of crafty things with pink with year. I think I'm getting the hang of it.
Almost Famous
I was looking for something to scrap today. Not many blogs have their challenges up yet. Anna over at Anna's Craft Cupboard has her sketch up so I chose to do that. Here's the sketch:
I've used two 6x4 photos. They were taken in Manhattan.
The products I used were:
Kaisercraft K-Bots/Switch
Creative Memories Blue, Cranberry and Natural lined paper
TPC Studio/Time To Travel Postmarks
Crate Paper Designer border stickers
Scrap Within Reach designer border stickers
Basic Grey Archaic alphas
Prima Laminated canvas
Basic Grey Wander element stickers
Thanks for looking.
