Dream card

I've made this card for Cardiology month at Red Earth Scrapping and for Day 108 at 365 Cards.

Day 108 asks you to include 3 things you consider to be girly. I totally consider flowers, rhinestones and ribbon to be girly. The flower is a resin one by Handmade Halo. It's really quite big and heavy, just fine for a card or OTP item, not for a layout of mine. Suits this I think.

The card was instruction #6 which included adding a quote and a journal tag. The papers here are by Kaisercraft.

Card for Day 107 at 365 Cards

Good morning all.

I have made this card for Day 107 at 365 Cards. It is a colour scheme we have to use:

This struck me as quite a masculine combination. I have made a thank you card using some Cosmo Cricket chipboard and some School paper with the numbers on. I thought it made quite a striking contrast.

Published in ASI

Hi all.

I was very surprised to hear from an online scrappy friend that I had a layout in Australian Scrapbook Ideas magazine, issue no. 14. I'd like to say thanks to Ann Mealin for letting me know. My layout is in Letters - Scrap Chat on page 10. I had written a letter to the magazine and attached the layout as an example. The title is Sweet. It's a lovely, soft layout of me as a baby with my Mum and Aunty in the photo. This is the first time I've had a layout in an actual physical mag. Can't wait to read the rest of the magazine.

Issue 15 is out this week.

80's music

I was a teenager in the 80's and I really love the music from that time. There's a challenge over at Scrap that song's blog to use a song from the 1980's as inspiration.
On the weekend I started to scrap layouts from our day at the Kennedy Space Centre. I remember a song I used to like by Def Leppard called "Rocket" so I used that as the title for this layout. It's unusual to get a family shot on a vacation. It's often part of a set shot by someone trying to sell you that photo, as the photo in this one is.

Here's my layout.

Perth has been having thunderstorms this week. We missed out on power outages and damage on Monday night but were not so lucky last night.  We were without power from 9:30pm til 7:30am this morning. Also, one of our fences blew down.  Here's a pic.

It is leaning against our house right where my bedroom is. I heard lots of loud noise during the night and kept looking out windows to try to see what was going on, too wild to go outdoors. Now I know what happened.

SUYS entry - Wade

This is my entry for Show us your stuff for June 2012. The image below is the inspiration. I have the colours and also a bird on my page.

There was also the opportunity to use the try this technique which is book paper blooms. Here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC1IvJBWYtI&feature=player_embedded link. They are fun and easy to make. I made 3. I might just do some more.

Day 94 - Card from sketch

My son turns 15 on Tuesday. I sneakily made this card in the room right next door to him. He was glued to the TV watching the Eagles play. I have made an insert for the card. It is a voucher to spend on new cricket pads. We wanted him to choose them.  I think this will make a nice surprise for him.

This card is for Day 94 at 365 Cards. The challenge is to use the sketch below.

I have chosen some really colourful papers. I've added lots of paint and I made a border around 3 edges with a purple metallic pen. I had a lot of fun creating these pages and am pleased with how it came out.

The movie poster we have this month as our inspiration is Hairspray.
