Fabulous news

NEW DESIGN TEAM POSITION

I am pleased to announce that I have been chosen as a Designer for a brand new challenge blog called Archi-Scraps.  Click here to view Julene's announcement.

The blog will feature an image based on architecture each month with some criteria attached. It's an exciting concept and I hope that you will spread the news and support Julene in her new endeavour (and me as well as one of her Designers). Why not follow the blog and see what comes along that inspires you to join in.

A bit of a whimsical layout

GOOD TIMES for Soul Scrappers' childhood memories challenge week 3.

This week it was about what you liked to wear as a kid. For me it was summer clothes. Here's me swinging on our swing on a big tree we had at the back of our property. I fell backward off this swing one day and hit my head really hard on one of the tree roots. Didn't put me off though. I would be about 10 in this photo.

Betsy - my doll

Soul Scrappers's Designer Jane Howden is doing a series of challenges on childhood memories. I have almost no photos of my childhood. I've started an album but kept getting stuck by not having photos, so Jane's challenges have been very helpful. I was able to do week 2's challenge of scrapping a page about your childhood favourite toy or doll by snapping this pic of my doll, Betsy, this morning.

I have distressed and sanded the base Core-dinations cardstock, then added 3 different ladybird papers, some ribbon and a couple of interesting flowers.

Be Mine - A Valentine's Day layout

I've created this layout using a little parcel of goodies from Mary Steinmetz, from the US. She is running a challenge over at Soul Scrappers called SSQ15. To qualify to be in it you had to complete 3 of the current Soul challenges. Then Mary sends each person (15 all told) the same set of goodies to create a page with. I'm the first to complete theirs.

From the package I have used:

Valentine tickets x 2
embossed heart paper strip
stamped heart
mini doily
baker's twine
1 set of 3 flowers
red sequins
lace fabric

I have added a white album page, Paper Inklings 12x12 white lace paper, white cardstock inked with red as my journal box and a Bo Bunny cardstock sticker title.

Thanks for looking.

Kaisercraft sketch challenge layout - Boyz

I have made the above layout for the Saturday Sketch #2 at Kaisercraft.  I have used Kaisercraft collection On The Move for everything except the title, which is a Kaisercraft Rewind embroidered badge.

Thanks for looking.

Ladybug card

I have created this card this morning for the Januiary 2013 ARTastic challenge. You had to use chalk or wings. I chose wings. I made this little ladybug using circles punches and a black pen. I've then chosen papers that had spots on to replicate the ladybug's spots. It's a simple technique that I find is effective.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Happy Halloween - layout for Anna's Craft Cupboard

Halloween layouts are so much fun to create. They are a bit creepy and the colours are great too. I invited the kids from Mark's class to go trick or treating. They all met at my house and I took them around the neighbourhood. The costumes they came up with were terrific. Mark is the skeleton zombie. Can't tell because of the hideous, ghoulish mask he is wearing. We bought it on our very recent trip to America just for the occasion.

I've created this layout using the January sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard created by Wendy Smith. I flipped it on its side and played with it a bit but it's still the inspiration.

Wall Street double layout

I have designed this double page spread using the colour scheme of mint green, red, grey, black and I've added a tiny touch of gold to represent money, given the subject.

I've used Studio Calico Abroad papers first class, concierge and locals.

I'm entering this in Soul Scrapper's challenge THC57, set by Liz Hocking, which is to do a double page spread based on travel photos, using 5 or more photos and 2 or more chipboard pieces. I've used 4 CB pieces and the title AC Thickers are also chipboard.

FS2S reveal - Matilda

Look friends. I have created a baby girl layout (with me in). My cousin Lee and his wife, Kathryn, had a baby girl this year. This is the first girl born into our family since me. Therefore, definitely worth a layout. She was born in Sydney so I couldn't wait to meet her once they moved back to Perth. She's a darling little girl and so well behaved.

I've created this layout for From Screen 2 Scrap's January 2013 movie poster challenge.  The poster is a movie I haven't seen called Ted.

The criteria is:
ted

1pt = White base card stock
2 pts= Large BOLD one word title (any colour)
3pts = A teddy bear on the page (stamped image, sticker, embellie)

Here is the poster:

I really hope you have a go at this month's challenge. December's was a bit dismal. Remember, there are prizes and kudos to be had. If you haven't tried it before let Shazza know I sent you. Thanks.

UPDATE
I'm pleased to say that my fellow Designers from Screen 2 Scrap chose my layout as the Design Team winning layout this month.
