I've never entered Scrap The Girls' challenges before. Happens I can do this month's which is pink. I do like to do pink layouts, just don't get much occasion for it.  Here is "love". Obviously I am a bridesmaid in this outfit. hahahaa

Bow making tutorial

I like this tutorial on bow making at the Crate Paper blog so I thought I would share. It's pretty simple but there may be one or two methods there you might not regularly use. I often forget about certain techniques I've learnt in the past and re-remember them from browsing at blogs. Do you do the same?

Week 4 - Tennant Creek layout and card

The place we're visting this week on the Red Earth Road Trip is Tennant Creek. Never been to the Northern Territory myself. It's the only State or Territory in Australia I haven't visited.

The task was to incorporate red, brown and other earthy colours in our layout and card. Also to be inspired by Aboriginal art. Plus of course to include the bonus item of which there were 3 this week. One is in the middle of 3 of the flowers (1 on the card and 2 on the layout).

This magpie caught a mouse and I saw it in my front garden. Another maggie was trying to get the mouse and the maggie was having none of sharing.

Products used in the layout are:

S.E.I. playday/tickles pp
Echo Park A Walk in the Park/Mother Nature pp
K&Co handmade green bird damask PP
Crate Paper borders/School Spirit
Sam & Lucy in bloom paper flowers
Tiffany's Treasures Petaloo jewel centre
gold brads
Crate Paper borders - brook
Kaisercraft chocolate pearls
Adorn it Random mini alphas
Fancy Pants Rusted Sun alphas
Sassafrass count journal tag cs sticker

Anna's June challenge

Annas_June_11.JPG

Anna's Craft Cupboard's June sketch is above. I've used two 4x6 photos as I just find that one is never enough for me. The photos are the first I took of New York City on our visit last October. The street sellers are just packing up for the day. I thought the gnome graffiti art was interesting too.

I've used mostly the Basic Grey Wander collection.  It's really cool and I have a lot of it.

Scrap The Boys sub for June

At Scrap The Boys this month there is a colour challenge (see above).  Here's a fun layout of my youngest boy Mark. It took forever for him to get a bird to land on him and feed it some fruit. He was getting quite upset about it and was thrilled to finally achieve it. You can see the pleasure in his face. I'm glad I could capture it in a photo and scrap it.

Week 3 is Sydney on the Red Earth Road Trip

I enjoy visiting Sydney. The hustle and bustle and variety of things to do is appealing. The river offers a wonderful aspect to wherever you might visit in the City.  Sydney was the destination for our Red Earth Road trip. Challenge criteria included no patterned paper, use blue and family photos. As my boys had both just had their birthdays this was too easy.  Here's my layout. It's of our lunch at Fast Eddy's for Damon's 14th birthday. The venue was his choice and we each had something different and enjoyed our meals. I've used cardstock as a background, grosgrain ribbon, punched cork shapes, a lollipop I made and some other embellies, including the mystery item (which was a WISH ticket) from our rescue kit.

We also had to make a card. Similar criteria, without the photo.  Here is mine.

I've used various shades of blue cardstock and a baby blue ribbon which I have woven together, AC sea foam thickers and a Creative Memories sticker.

Day 107 - Mega Movie Wednesday

I can't believe it's day 107 at 365 Cards. Holy moly, where has the year gone to?

Movie poster week is a very cool challenge theme.  I liked the look of the Green Lantern movie poster. I've chosen to be inspired by the colours. Was going to go with a city theme but didn't. The tag that is attached to the card is one I have made 6 of. 5 are for June's swap for Amanda's swaps. I've posted them off this morning. So, if you chose to go in the tag swap you have a sneaky peek at what you're getting from moi.

This is the poster. Very cool huh.

Last ever Scrap Tiffany DT project

Sad to say but Tiffany is not continuing on with her scrappy blog. Sob. It's been wonderful to work with the lovely ladies that make up her DT and Tiffany herself of course. All very wonderful people.

Here is my card for the sketch challenge set this month. It's called Remember When and has old movie stars featured in it.

June ArTastic sub - Pier 17

Firstly, please excuse the quality of the photos. It's a dull, rainy day here today.

Here is my submission for June's ArTastic challenge. You need to use a boat, stripey paper and have 2 people in your photo.

The photos are from our trip to New York. We browsed through all the shops at Pier 17. The boys are out on the deck of the pier with a tall sailing ship in the background. The view of the Pier itself is from on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Road Trip Week 2 - a layout and a card

This week on Red Earth Scrapping's road trip we have travelled to the north of WA (my State) to Lake Argyle. Never been myself but it looks amazing.

Here is my card. You had to have a bird on it. I had this gorgeous bird by K&Co. I took a twig from my garden and glued it on the card for somewhere for the bird to perch. The Prima goodies offset the card perfectly I think. I love how it turned out.

The criteria for the layout was pink. For an extra ticket we were to use an item in the rescue kit that matches. If you look at the lady poodle she is wearing some bling. The special item matches this perfectly. This display was in the Grand Central Terminal in NY. It was so tall and so stunning I just was in absolute awe. Paul took some photos too. He took the top right one, I'm actually taking a photo in the photo. I hand made the two flowers. I used rose patterned tissue paper. They are quite pretty I think.

Products used:
Glitz maya patchwork PP
Creative Memories pink flower PP
Mrs Grossman's Vintage Lace stickers
Flourish with a bling plum pearls
hand made rose tissue paper flowers
Creative Memories journal box sticker
rhinestones

Road Trip - Week 1

Hi everybody,

I've bought myself a ticket to ride the bus on Red Earth Scrapping's 12 week tour. You can see my little ad on the right hand side at the top of my blog.

Week 1 is a visit to Cowra. We have to make a layout using the word "peace" in the title and include a secret embellie from the kit that was available for purchase. We had to guess which item to use but I tell you, it wasn't hard.  We also had to make a card using origami folding. Easy peasy. I taught a whole workshop on this once. Also have done a workshop myself in the Sydney Chinese Gardens.

From Screen 2 Scrap reveal - THE LAND

Hi all,

The new poster for From Screen 2 Scrap is "UP". It's such a fun movie poster. Why not have a go at it this month?

Here is my take on it. It's called The Land as in the part of Epcot in Disneyworld, Florida called The Land. It was our first stop of our day at Epcot. The boys and Paul went on the ride Soarin' which I felt might make me sick so I decided to forgo it. I went and had breakfast instead. Cold tea, yuck, french toast with maple syrup and fried potatoes. What a weird breaky, seriously.
Anyway, here is my layout. Check out From Screen 2 Scrap for the rest of the details.

Scrap Tiffany using Kaisercraft

Hi everyone,

The first of the month is here. Yay. It's always an exciting time.
I got some nice happy mail today from a win on Facebook from D-Lish Scraps. Lots of embellies to use on my future projects. A lovely surprise.

Today is challenge day at Scrap Tiffany. We had to use our favourite Designer's products. I chose to use Kaisercraft. I'm really pleased with my card. I've also included a tiny Creative Memories snail sticker and title sticker. Can you see the little snail? He was the perfect colour match. Plus, I've hand-stitched a couple of lace flowers which I wanted to incorporate too.

Pop over to Scrap Tiffany to see what the other Designers did.
