Get Picky entry

The challenge blog Get Picky turned 1 recently and is having a blog hop. Lots of inspiration there. This is their current sketch. If you do a layout for it, plus visit and leave a comment on each blog you could win a prize and a Guest Designer spot. I've left a comment on each blog and done the above sketch in the following layout. It is in my normal clean and simple style. Usually the winners at Get Picky are layouts that are very pretty and girly so I won't win but then I am not expecting to. I'd love to win a prize though. That's always appealing.

The layout is all about the remarkable Washington Monument. It's a really incredible structure and it makes it  easy to know where you are in the City from taking your bearings from it.

For the current Get Picky challenge we had to take inspiration from the butterflies below and be sure to use multiple photos. I've picked three of the colours and used 3 different coloured butterflies in my layout.

Get Picky #8

Hi ya,

Today I've been to the emergency ward of Freo Hospital. Damon got a knock to the knee when playing footy yesterday. It's only bruised thank goodness.
I also feel down some steps and have bruised my foot. They took an x-ray and nothing is broken so that's good news.

I completed my Get Picky challenge layout this morning. Boy, it's a bright one. It was based on their sketch. The photos were taken in the NY Toys R Us store.

Get Picky's April Inspiration Challenge #7 is this photo and the colours below. You also had to use more than one photo.



My photo has a lot of colours similar to the slate wall in the background so I used a yellow LYB base along with the pretty blue as accents.  Here is my layout, plus a close up. I had these left over triangles from cutting the banner so I've used them also.

Get Picky - March Sketch challenge #6

I love the new sketch at Get Picky. So pretty. I also love shopping so I've married the two with this double layout set. I love doing double layouts. Here's the lovely sketch.

I made this really fun, bright layout last night using pink and blue. It is for two challenges combined this month.
One is for ARTastic challenge blog. Criteria was have wings on the page, layout must be about you and use same multiple photos or mirror image.
The other is for a fun new site I found called Get Picky. They love multi photo layouts, which I like best. They had a sketch to use. I changed it a little but the basics are there. They have a Pink Paislee pack up for grabs and I would so love to win that.

Get Picky reveal

Boy, am I on a roll this morning. I whipped up this page in 10 minutes. I must admit that I did have the song printed out from about a week ago with the plan to scrap it. My page is about letting go of the apron strings as my son ventures off to high school. It's a fair way from home so he has to catch public transport home, a train and a bus. At 12 years old I really felt anxious about it and accompanied him for a while til he got familiar with it. Can't keep them young forever though as much as you might wish it. Hence, the stay forever young title. Love you Damon. xxx
