Page for Mystical challenge

MUSIC PAGE

I was compiling my 2011 family album today and had to add a page where there was a space. I always meant to use these photos for that purpose. There is a challenge put up by Tracey on the Mystical Scrapbooks blog.

The challenge is a “No cut challenge” Use precut papers from paperpacks or pads….those 8×8 or 6×6 pads. If you don’t have any I give you permission to cut paper to the side of those pads/packs. Extra criteria is to hand mqke a small embellishment. ..mine is the paperclip flag.

I've used Kaisercraft's Hunt & Gather 6x6 paper pad, 3 sheets of it plus a die-cut. I have some MME die-cuts. There are quite a few stickers, some twine, a metal clef. My hand made items are the tag and the 3 stars which I have punched out of washi tape over cardstock.

Thanks for looking.

Want to scrap a food layout?

CUCC17 - SOUL SCRAPPERS

I have just the challenge for you.  Today I've posted a new challenge at Soul Scrappers.  Go take a look to see the easy criteria I've set.

Here's a look at the layout.

I hope you choose to give it a go. There's a RAK to be won if I get more than 8 entries, which I'm sure to do. I love to give RAKs.  Have fun with it.

Hexagon card

CARD CHALLENGE SITE

I found a card site today by typing card challenge into google. It's really, really popular. It's called Less is More.
For week 124 there are 86 entries so far. Wowee. Anyway, they're about to get one more.
Here is my take on this week, which is HEXAGONS. It's made with cardstock and My Mind's Eye papers and stickers, plus 3 little rhinestones to make the flower centres.

New Design Team for me

NEW DESIGN TEAM

I was one very pleased and delighted scrapper yesterday when Donna Cope invited me to join her Design Team at Mystical Scrapbooks. The store stocks all kind of wonderful goodies for crafting. Why not go and have a browse? There are plenty of challenges to try out as well.

I've been busy making tags lately. Here's one I made for Show Us Your Craft run by Mark of Seaside Scrapping. The theme is "Up in the Air".

Travel layout : Leaving The USA

Soul Scrappers have a new designer, Cheryl Lambert, who is doing a new challenge, which is a scraplift.

Her original lift was from this layout:

LIFT1 (B) -Journey

We could lift anything from it.  This is what I did:

I have a lot of similar elements like airplanes, travel theme, a sub-title, passport, ticket, tag and similar placement.
Whenever company's bring out a travel line I grab what I like from it. There are quite a few different manufacturers mixed on this page.

Thanks for looking.

Scrap The Boys - Time for Tennis

The challenge at Scrap The Boys this month is a really easy one for me, scrap a sport page. I'm always doing these. Also have to use the colours, red, yellow, orange or teal. At least 2. I've used all 4, but mostly yellow as that's the colour shirt the boys are wearing.  Here's my layout.

Thanks for looking.

My Mind's Eye layout

There is a challenge on the My Mind's Eye blog this month to use the mood board below to created a project. I've been getting into using these mood boards lately. I thought the colours were an interesting combination. I had just the right MME artisan paper for the job. Then I went looking for a photo and found one I had taken at a Museum of this pretty little porcelain scallop dish.
Everything is MME except the alphas which are Prima.
Thanks for looking.

Birthday layout

Mark gets ready to blow out his 12 candles as we sing the birthday song to him.
To make the candles I cut some patterned paper into small strips and used my scissors to make a pointy end. To make the flame I used a flower punch that creates these little shapes after it punches. Perfect, no?

Made a bit of a mess by holding my mists up too high and overspraying the misting box. Thankfully it came off with water. Thanks for the tip Donna White. Good thing I did it outside.

I've entered this layout in the Mystical Scrapbooks challenge for June 2013. You needed to use strips of patterned paper and misting. I cut the strips using my trimmer and a large circle pattern, then placed them on to cardstock and misted over them. Once they dried I took them away and was left with an interesting pattern.

VOTE FOR MY LAYOUT
I've also popped this layout into the Our Family category at The Scrapbook Awards which goes for 3 months, June, July and August. I'd really appreciate your vote if you like it.  Thanks a bunch.

Father's Day layout

JUNE-2013_thumb.png

Here's my example for June's sketch competition at Anna's Craft Cupboard. I've used some real vintage Basic Grey as my base - Kissing Booth and some nice rich colours for a male layout. Graphic 45 helped me out there.

Enjoy the Little Things - CSI #74

This is the second time I've participated in the CSI color stories inspiration challenge. I am loving this kind of challenge. I find it very inspiring.

I have made a starburst page. Yay! I've been wanting to do one. It's of me and my brother. I knew I had this pic of us on our trikes and knew it would be a good fit for this challenge.

I've used some gorgeous MME papers and lots of different kinds of flowers.

See the inspiration board below. I have used all the scheme colours plus a little blue for the bike in the pic. For evidence I have ruffles, rolle fabric flowers, flowers, leaves and cabochons. For testimony I have document a childhood memory, choose a prompt from a site (Saturday) and used the word little in my title. I've also added lacy ribbon to my journal spot.

Plus I have used some of the matching co-ordinates that come with this case file.

A sea faring layout

The movie poster inspiration at From Screen 2 Scrap for June 2013 is Oz The Great and Powerful. I saw this movie and enjoyed it. Not a huge fan of 3D and I don't think it added that much to the film. Still, the imagery was great.

The added criteria is:

1pt = a fence (the yellow strip on bottom right)
2pts = gold/yellow title (4 word title top right)
3pts = hot air balloon/s (I have 3, 2 are embossed on the background paper and the third is a Kaisercraft rub-on above the photo)

Let's see what you come up with.

Reflection

I took this photo of my son Mark just before he went off to play a football game. He had a far off look in his eye and a bit of a smile. I wonder what he was thinking.

I've created this layout as a Designer on the Archi-scraps team for June 2013. You draw inspiration from a picture of some architecture. This month there is an added criteria of SILHOUETTE. I have added a chipboard piece to satisfy it.  Then you need to use the following pic:

Interested? Get creating and let's see what you come up with. There's a beaut prize to be won too from Memory Maze chipboard.
