May ARTastic challenge

This is a fun challenge. Remember to take your own inspiration. It could be the colours. It could be a giant circle with a circular photo inside. Anything really.

Jill Foster with Country Ladies

Jill Foster – Artist Profile

CRITERIA - Girls only plus Circles

I had a lot to choose from but I am starting on a holiday album so I chose a pic from that to do

I do have some of the colours, blue and yellow. I ignored the yellow as my photo didn't have any in it  I made a feature of the title with circles using my Creative Memories circle cutting system and Titletopia.

Hope you can join us at ARTastic this month.

Regards,

Dale

Thank you card with a tag

I love October. It is my birthday month. I will celebrate this Wednesday.

How about some inspiration?

You could try this month's challenge at Unstampabelles.

Here is the criteria and my example

#105 OctoberInspire - who or what was your inspiration into the world of paper craft?

TWIST: a Thank You card or tag using the word Inspire

A tag on a card. Inspired by my Mum who introduced me to crafting at a young age.

I have used a Phase Eight clothing label tag, which was a double.  I love that clothing brand. This is the back. Yes, I also love a bargain. haha

I added a different coloured piece of vellum on each one and a different piece of patterned paper on each as well.
Then, I used some scraps from another project, mostly Kaisercraft bits.
Lastly, the black word Inspire is a sticker from Creative Memories. Appropriate for the challenge because I got into proper scrapbooking from a Creative Memories home class way back when.

Qantas Club - layout for Archi-scraps

October is here and so is another challenge at Archiscraps. Just in case you don't know, we now upload our entries to our facebook page here.

Inspo pic is:

Here is my layout.

I thought the inspo pic looked quite moody so I wanted to do a page that reflected that. I have added light pink to brighten it up a little. I have cut a circle from the middle of the floral paper and flipped it to the back side, which was white. This duplicates the white plates in the photo. I also have a circle die-cut with a little plane on it. Lots of different layers here.  Some of the papers and the alpha stickers came from a set given out at Memoranza in 2006 by Creative Memories. Wow, old stash. Good to use some of it.

I am providing the prize this month. I made some tags and flags and there are two paper packs. The papers are big enough you can mount 4x6 photos on to them. The papers are exclusive, cannot be purchased, Creative Memories papers.

Get your thinking caps on and join us.

Castaway Bay

I've scrapped a page using some fun pictures from our day at Sea World a few years back.

This is for a challenge at Soul Scrappers where you needed to use trees.

Here is my page.

I thought it would be really interesting to put everything on an angle for this page.  Why not?

I've used Kaisercraft Peace and Joy/Elation pp for the background paper. Who says Christmas collections can't be versatile?

Then I've used Kaisercraft's 6 1/2" Sandy Toes paper pad a few times. I chose two of the papers and put them one atop the other. These are separated by "blob" washi tape. I didn't name it.  It looked like water to me.  I've used a journal box from that pad too.

I used 2 Creative Memories die cut palm trees and some water splash stickers.

Embellies I've added are a Chipboard anchor and chipboard cloud, some twine and some great brads by Simple Stories "You are Free" collection.  More Simpel Stories for the Alphas and stickers from the Good Day Sunshine Collection.

Cheers,
Dale x

Girls only

I love doing music layouts.  This is a photo I snapped of myself (and many others) on the risers on rehearsal night at my Chorus.  I love being part of a group of women creating something special together.

This month's challenge at ARTastic is a girls only one.  My Chorus is made up of only women. I like having that outlet as my family is dominated by boys.

The inspiration picture is:

No photo description available.
John Maitland with "Down to the Ocean".

Quite gorgeous I'm sure you will agree.

I wonder what you can create with this theme. I can't wait to see.

March 2020 Unstampabelles challenge

Howdy.

This month's challenge at Unstampabelles is an interesting one.

It is all about HOPE. You need to use predominantly yellow on your project.

I've made a card.

I've kept it really simply. I've used a lemon base cardstock. I added a clothing tag (I like upcycling these). They already have some kind of thread attached, which is a bonus. I added two types of pp and a vellum butterfly sticker. The finishing touches were the Creative Memories Hope sticker and a tiny white flower with a yellow centre.

Too easy. Why not enter?

Cheers,

Do you love using paint and flowers on your scrapbook layout?

Here's a really fun challenge I know you will all just love.

Be inspired by the painting below and use paint and flowers on your layout.

Emma Uber with "Lady in a blue hat".

Image may contain: 1 person

My son took a friend to his Year 12 Ball. We had to get the button corsage he wore and the matching wristlet for her.  We chose off-white, almost green orchids so that dictated my colour scheme for the page.

The background paper is by Creative Memories and is really pretty with foil accents.

I used a champagne cork and 4 different colours of paint to create the flower centres. Then I used the tip of a wooden skewer to dab paint highlights once they had dried.

I the chose some white fabric and hand cut the petals, distressing each side. I attached these with glue to two of the flowers centres.

I painted 2 x chipboard leaf branches and a flourish frame with Kaisercraft paint in the colour soft moss.

I'm really pleased with the result.

There are prizes to be won. Why not enter?

Who doesn't love a fairy tale?

How adorable is this "tree house"?

Image may contain: tree, sky, plant, house and outdoor

This is January's inspiration for the challenge at Archiscraps.
Be inspired by a fairy tale.

I've made a charming layout about our visit to Fairy Park in Victoria.

It's titled Brothers Grimm. I do love their fairy tales.

Do you the little paper pieced cottage that I made?

Your turn to join in.  Head over to Archi-scraps to see what the other Designers made for your inspiration.

No photo description available.
Grace Crowley with Abstract

I have chosen to use the pink, lilac and white colours from the art piece.
My shapes are squares, hearts and circles.  I've used Creative Memories punches to create the border on the left side of the page.

Hope you can join in.

Cards for Men - Fishing and Father's Day

M is for March and M is for men this month at Unstampabelles challenge blog where I am a Designer.

March - Makes for Men and Boys TWIST Use a Staple or a Peg
Male focused items.

In my family I am surrounded by lots of men. I find designing for men pretty easy. I've had lots of practice and I know they like to keep it simple.

Here are two cards that I made at the same time using a similar style and components.

The men in my family like to fish so the top card will go to one of them and the bottom card will go to my hubby later in the year. He is always reading the news with his glasses on the tip of his nose.

Materials used:

  • 1 sheet of 12x12 brown cardstock
  • Kaisercraft Sandy Toes 6 1/2" paper pad patterned papers
  • Archival Ink - Sepia
  • Creative stickers - Happy Dad's Day
  • buttons
  • grey cardstock
  • moustache washi tape
  • mini pegs
  • Creative Memories green sticker - fish skeleton
Hope you join in this challenge.

Cheers,

Denim pocket Happy birthday card

Hello,

This is the first challenge for 2019 for Unstampabelles.

It is a fun one.

Simply Bright and Cheerful TWIST Arty Creations Appreciated

I had a birthday sticker by Bo Bunny from their Party On! range.  It inspired the whole card.

I always think of primary colours as being the most cheerful so I started with yellow cardstock.  Taking colour inspiration from the sticker I chose a red and white polka dot paper by Pebbles from their Best of range, it also had a green strip across the bottom, which worked for me.

I was about to throw out a pair of jeans and cut off the coin pocket to put on my card. It had to have something coming out of it so I decided they would be balloons. I took some Creative Memories red die cut balloons and used some yellow ribbon and white brads to jazz them up.
Finishing the front out with a clear happy birthday sticker by Creativ.

The inside of the card is where I put the sticker and a white piece of cardstock to write on.  This card will be given to my hubby as his birthday is on 5 February.

Hope you feel inspired to try this challenge.

Cheers,

Dale x

Dinosaur double

I quite enjoy doing double pages. I like to put multiple photos on my pages and this is an easy way to do so and still have room for journalling.

I found a new challenge today. It's at Orange paperie and co. This challenge is to do a double page spread.

I don't have a die-cut machine but a friend helped me print out the dinosaur and tracks on her Cricut. Very kind of her.

Soul Scrapper's - new challenge CUCC31

Check out my latest challenge over at Soul Scrappers. It runs from 17 July to 7 August 2014.

All you have to do is create a nature themed page. I have done a double.

These are photos I took of my local park, Wireless Hill. Walking through it takes me back to my childhood. I lived in the country so spent a lot of time building cubbyhouses in the bush, poking fox holes, catching yabbies with my brother and general walking or horse riding.

Head over to Soul Scrappers and check out album CUCC31 for more examples and inspiration and to put your entry in. I'm awarding a prize if I get 8 entries or more.

Celebrate - a fun party layout

I have dipped into my old Creative Memories stash today and used some Mod papers and a sticker.

Doesn't my good friend Lorraine look smashing in her purple outfit?

I'm entering this layout into Papercrafter's Corner Week 50 magazine Monday challenge which can be found here. The cover looks like this:
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 50 Inspiration Piece (image)

The party Lorraine is at is my hubby's 50th birthday. I think her outfit matches the swirls in the main coloured 50 in the centre of the mag perfectly.

INXS for Counterfeit Challenge for March 2014

UPDATE: MY LAYOUT WAS PICKED AS ONE OF THE FAB 6 FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH

The inspiration challenge at Counterfeit kit this month is stars. I often add stars to my layouts. It's gender neutral and just fun.

I've created this design using Creative Memories wavy trimmer and star punch. Creates drama don't you think?

CSI Case File #114 - Dale

CSI Case File #114 is an interesting one. I admired the sketch supplied.

I have chosen to go with just my name and not a photo.

I started off with the green cardstock to match the colour palette. Then I have added a black loopy border to it, part of the evidence. The up and down pieces are ribbon and washi tape and stickers. I've added some gorgeous black rub ons, some more green stricker strip horizontally in the green. I used some large Creative Memories stickers for my name. The journalling is my testimony. Write about your name, nicknames. I've used numbers to list all of my  nicknames.
I simply love the lady stamp that I've used.
Why not take a look at how the other agents solved the case. It's very inspiring. Some terrific ideas to scrap list.

Be Mine for Scrap The Girls

I've created a page about the day we brought Georgia home from the Cat Haven. She was 3 months old and just tiny and wouldn't stop purring.

This is for Scrap the Girl's January 2014 challenge which is a sketch by Amanda H.

Here is the sketch.

Mixed media layout for sketch challenge

I tried my hand at a mixed media layout for SC73 at Soul Scrappers.
You had to use this sketch with the added criteria of bling, paint and a 5x7 photo. Challenge was set by Debi Clarke.

I made a School layout based on my son receiving a Science Award at his Primary School graduation ceremony.

The bling is two small metal dots and the sequins on the chipboard letters. For the paint I used texture paste and then applied 3 different coloured paints. I used a disposable glove and painted with my fingers. Then I added the sequins and some mists. I've also written the elements from the periodic table on to the letters to tie in the science aspect of the theme.

Thanks Debi. Another page done in Mark's School album.

Disney - PL for Mag Monday

For this week's (week 24) magazine cover at Papercrafter's Corner I really couldn't go past a Disney page. Here is the cover:

Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week 24 Inspiration Piece (image)

Cute huh?  I chose to use the spots and I've got a Mickey on my page. This is a project life style of page.

Thanks for looking.
