Christmas double page scrapbook layout

Happy 2024. Hope it is, for all of us.

Check out this quirky inspo pic that Archiscraps has for you this month.  Cute, right!

Criteria below.

Use toothpicks on your layout or card.

Some of the other DT members have been super creative.  For me, it was a chance to use some toothpick flags that I had created a few years back. Christmas inspired. I'm still a bit in Christmas mode to be honest.

Here is my double layout.

I am woefully behind on my Christmas album. Oh, well. haha

Hope you can join in. Head to the fb page to add your entry.

Outdoor Christmas layout

Hello there.

I've created an outdoor Christmas layout for my Design Team example at Archiscraps.

This is the inspiration photo.  Your entry must include a building OUTSIDE.

I've picked up the red and the lights to feature in my layout. Here is it.

I chose to make a little tree to add. I have painted and inked some white paper with red. Then I freehand cut it out. I also cut out a little basket for the tree and added basket weave with pen. I added a little glass star and some Christmas baubles.

Head over to facebook to check out this month's challenge. go here

ARTastic December 2021 Design challenge

Wow, it's December!

Hope all are well. I'm looking forward to Christmas.

Here is a cute challenge for you.

This challenge blog is an Australian one. This month's inspiration is:

Adrienne Higgs with "Christmas Kangaroos".

No photo description available.

Why not have kangaroos (boomers) as we three kings?

You must add stars to your creation.

Here is my card and I'll explain what inspired me.

I saw that there were stars in the background. I've added stars in the background using chalk and a stencil.  The chalks I used are by Pebbles and they are iridescent. They look very pretty in real life.

There are also stars in the polar bear scene.

All the animals are facing right. I definitely have a lot more than 3 and they're not kangaroos, but I figure that is AOK.

This was the first Christmas card I made for the year (back on 29 September).

I wonder how you will be inspired. Head over to the facebook page to enter here.

Fancy fold Christmas card for December challenge at Unstampabelles

 Hello. Welcome to December 2020.

Time for a new challenge. You can make anything but it must include the following:

#107 DecemberJoy -

the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires : DELIGHT; the expression or exhibition of such emotion : GAIETY: a state of happiness or felicity : BLISS: a source or cause of delight

TWIST : a music twist...ie Carols/ Carol singing; instruments; drummer boys; bird song; concerts; music bringing joy

I have chosen to make a fancy fold card. Thanks to Mitzi for the pattern.

I will give this card to my son's girlfriend's family.  The girlfriend wrote the Christmas message for me, but she didn't know it was going to be used in her own card. It will be a nice surprise for her I hope.

I've also made another card using this pattern to enter into Mitzi's challenge at Soul Scrappers.

Do you have a preference? They are the same design but give a different feel. Second one suits a family with kids I think.

Happy holiday season.

Dale

November Unstampabelles' challenge

 Hi there,

I usually post in the first week for this challenge but was too busy this time round.

The challenge is:

#106 NovemberBelieve   to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something or someone, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

Can be in a person or a myth or fairy tale or yourself.

TWIST : use an unusual fold

Here is my card.

It is a 3 panel gate fold style. Very easy to make.

I am very much in Christmas mode at the moment. I've been wrapping presents. So much fun.

Hope you join in.

Xmas decoration made of wood

XMAS

Here is my first ever entry in a new challenge blog called What's in the Bickie Tin?

You have to use bling, green and ribbon. In this case my ribbon is green and also sparkly, so all 3 things rolled into one. I also have sequins though.

This is a Kaisercraft wooden word which I have made into a decoration.

I painted it entirely red, then painted the front of it silver. Added some red and white twine, some green sparkly ribbon and some red sequins and beads. Done.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas themed challenge 2018

Wow. It's well into December.

Have you done your shopping and sent your cards?

Here is your chance to get into the Christmas spirit.

Unstampabelles December challenge is:

#86: December - Christmas theme for your Country

Twist - explain the theme in your blog

You could win this.

I live in Western Australia.  Do you know the song that goes "give me a home among the gum trees"?
Well, that was my inspiration.

What do you think?

Remember: you can scrap; make a card or tag; or do off-the-page items and 3D stuff
for this challenge as long as you DON'T USE STAMPS!

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Happy crafting.

A Christmas Card using non-traditional colours

Ho ho ho. Just like that it is December.

Have you decided to make some Christmas cards? This is the first one that I made this year.

The challenge at Unstampabelles for December 2017 is to do some zentangling. This can be as hard or as easy as you like. It's a lot of fun, give it a go.  Plus the twist is to make it Christmas, but non-traditional colours.

I've made my first Christmas card of the season.

I've used a stencil of a Christmas tree and some metallic pens to do the outlining and zentagling.

I've added a sticker sentiment mounted on to some really pretty silver sparkly cardstock. So the colours I've used of purple, silver and aqua make for really non-traditional Christmas colours. Had to make the star on top gold of course.

I look forward to seeing what you make.

Happy crafting,

Dale x

Glittery Christmas cards - 3

December 2015's challenge at Unstampabelles is to use glitter on a project.  A store voucher of $20 is up for grabs.

I have 3 cards to show you,

This card was actually created by my Mum.  It uses lots of very glittery stickers.

I made this card using some silver glitter washi tape. White cardstock is the base and the cover is part of a card that I have recycled from one I received last year. The lovely Donna Cope received this card.

This last card is my favourite.  The base is made of very glittery red cardstock. There is a gold fleck through it and it is very sparkly in real life.  Then we have some gold corrugated paper. On top of that sits a pink die-cut ornament with a red ribbon. The ornament is adorned with a gold glitter pattern. Lastly there is a sticker sentinment saying the magic of Christmas.

I hope you join in. We had a fabulous number of entries last month.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Glad Tidings - A Christmas carol layout

GLAD TIDINGS

I've created this layout for the November 2015 challenge at scrapbookingtop50. I got quite a happy vibe from their mood board (see below). I've used all the vibrant colours and added some patterned papers that had some shapes. The last thing I added was the little coloured circle stickers inside my inked circles which I thought matched the umbrellas quite well.

Christmas cards with a northern flavour

Aren't these sweet little images? I've fussy cut them from a wonderful magazine called Daphne's Diary. I've also added some background paper, a large snowflake sticker and some rhinestones.

I'm entering these two cards in a competition at Soul-scrappers

Christmas Jigsaw gift - Kaisercraft otp project

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

A new challenge at scrapping4funchallenges is to incorporate music notes.

My Chorus, A Cappella West, is running a Christmas in July dinner on 1 August of which I'm in charge of decorating the venue. I've made this as one of the prizes that can be won.

I've chosen to use the Kaisercraft jigsaw puzzle wooden off the page project.

I've used the sheet music from one of my Chorus Christmas carols, Silent Night as my background. It's quite thin paper, just copy paper so I've used gesso to adhere it to the wood.

I painted the back side of the project with red paint  using a foam brush.

Here is the final product. You can see how it can come apart.

I think it's best displayed together though.

Kaisercraft Santa Sleigh

Hi all. It's fast approaching the big day.

I'm so pleased with my off the page project I have made. It's a wooden Kaisercraft Santa's Sleigh.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The red paper on the outside of the sleigh is especially glittery and didn't photograph that way. I shopped far and wide to find just the perfect bits and pieces to attach to it and to put inside. It sits proudly in my lobby.

I'm entering this into 4 challenges.

1.  Papercrafter's Corner Week #79 magazine Monday
2. Artastic
3. Scrapping4funchallenges; and of course

Make an Aussie Christmas card

UNSTAMPBELLES

The December challenge at Unstampabelles is to make a southern hemisphere Christmas card. I have done just one of them before, a Santa surfing was the theme.

This time I wanted to make a bit more sophisticated one. I'm going to send it to the host family that took care of my son Mark when he went to Japan in October. (I know the family have received it and liked it).

I've used some Creative Memories backing paper, a piece of Kaisercraft postage stamp Christmas paper, both of which I have inked around the edges of with red ink, some sparkly red glitter tape and a Christmas sticker for the sentiment. The feature is the gum nut and leaves which I have cut out freehand and embellished with pens.
