Well, that was my inspiration.

3 card set

Are you excited for a new challenge from Unstampabelles?  Here it is:

#85: November - Boxes, Parcels or Bags
Twist - recycle something

I've chosen to use a little box that my favourite tea can be bought in, just a 10 teabag pack. English Breakfast tea. I do love it so.

Now when I saw that the inside had a wonderful pattern on I decided to keep it for future use.
When this challenge came up I knew that it was time to use it.  Don't you love the pattern?

I chose to make some tags from the little box.  I made each one a bit different. The box already had one sentiment printed on it, "Enjoy each day".

Of course, I then had to turn them into cards.  Most of my friends are tea drinkers so these will come in handy.

What will your creativity inspire? I look forward to seeing your entries.  You could win this prize.

Scrapbooking challenge - Brick or Stone

Hey, it's November.  That means there is a new challenge to do at Archiscraps.

Here it is:
NOVEMBER-Stone or brick texture with optional layers if wanted.

Image may contain: outdoor

I have used a really useful brick stamp from Prima and some brown ink to stamp my background paper in four places. The paper is a pretty one by Kaisercraft from their Take Note collection. An oldie, but a goodie. It already had a coffee cup stain on it. Perfect for my breakfast related page I thought.  I then just added some orange, lime and mint green accents. I took those colours from my photos.

Did you know we have a facebook page?
It is named Archiscraps community.
Apply to join if you want.

Party page

Look at me with my arm up in the air like I just don't care. hahaha

I made this page for a cyber crop Mystical Scrapbooks had last weekend.  It was a tic tac toe and I chose mist, large photo and use the word celebrate.

I love this photo. It epitomises me at a party.  I was so happy because my Chorus had achieved 2nd place that day at the national Convention in Perth in 2017.  It was a lot of fun.

Scrapbook page about cats

On a roll today. I've done two pages.  One is for a DT sample so you can't see that one til 1 November.

Today's is about cats.

Perth has a Cat Cafe that is for rescue cats. They live there full time and all are named.  You can get a cuppa and go in and spend some time with them. Great for people who can't have a pet for whatever reason.

This layout is entered into the ARTastic challenge blog for October 2018. I haven't entered for a while, mainly because I don't scrap as much as I used to due to my singing hobby taking up so much of my spare time.

This month is all about monochromatic hues.

Elegant thank you card

Today I have another example to give you for the challenge at Unstampabelles.
You need to use gold glitter/foil and the twist is to use only white and gold.

Now I thought this was quite an easy challenge, that's why I made two samples. You can see the other one in my previous post last week.

What do you think? Do you like it? Would you like to have a go? Why not enter?

Cheers,
Dale

A gold and white thank you card

I love October, it's my birthday month.

Here is a new challenge from us at Unstampabelles.

#84: October - Golden Glitter/Foiling
Twist - Only use white and gold

This combo makes stunning projects. Very elegant.

I've used a gold card base and gold ribbon. There is a little glitter on the gold flower. The die-cut has a gold foil pattern on it.

I have left quite a bit of "white space".  I hope you like this example and feel compelled to rush off and make something yourself.

This is the price you could win for yourself.

Thanks for looking.

Winter scrapbooking theme challenge

It's October. I love October. It's my birthday on Sunday. Always a fun week. My friends and family have some wonderful things planned for me.

Today's challenge is from Archiscraps where I am a Designer.

Your challenge this month is based around WINTER.

We would love to see your cards, layouts, tags anything to do with winter
Reminder that Christmas isn't far away so maybe a snowy card

Isn't it a cute cabin. I wonder what the view is like.

Here is the layout I came up with. It's my son at an ice skating party. We don't get snow here where I live so this is about as close as we come.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Button Art

New challenge

The Unstampabelles challenge is ready for you to try.
#83: September - Button Art
Twist - use Washi Tape

I've chosen to make a card.   I had a lot of fun making it.

The washi tape is black with leaves. Quite stylish.

I've used a stencil to outline an M.  I have then filled it in with red, black and white buttons to match the washi.  I have filled the spaces left with white and red/white seed beads.

Quite pleased with the end result. What do you think?

Happy Hour by the Sea - a layout

Get a load of this crazy building. It is the Gaudi Tile Mosaic Fruit Spire, Sagrada Familia, Barcelona

No automatic alt text available.

This is your inspiration for the September challenge at Archiscraps. Your challenge is to also use fruit in your project somehow.

Here is what I came up with.

Image may contain: 2 people, including Dale Tiernan, people smiling

I have also chosen to use the colours in the photo but you need not do the same.

Happy creating. I look forward to seeing what you put up.

Male cards using Kaisercraft embossing folder

Hello friends,

Today I have two cards to share with you.

They are my Design Team inspiration for the August Unstampabelles' challenge, which is:

#82: August - Emboss, emboss, emboss.......
Twist - make this for a male

I like making male cards and I like to keep them simple.

I used a Kaisercraft diamond pattern embossing folder to satisfy the criteria.  The soft palette suits a male card.

I've made two cards this month, both using the same embossed paper.  The embellishments are from Creative Memories.

Thanks for looking. I hope you are inspired to enter.

Yummy breakfasts

It's a wintery, rainy day here in Perth today.

I decided that I would produce a scrapbook layout.

I printed a couple of photos and chose a challenge.

Donna's challenge for August at Mystical scrapbooks required:
You must include:
1 type of bling
2 die cuts
3 pieces of patterned paper only.. you can have multiples of the same...but only 3 "patterns"

I've used mostly Webster's Pages products.  Do you spot the cute little teapot charm? It's so adorable.

New challenge for August

I think this would have to be my favourite challenge for Archiscraps this year.  I love the colours of this month's mood board.  You must use only the colours shown apart from white, black or kraft.

The building in the picture is in Dubai.

Here is my layout.  I wanted to also feature a water element.

Check out the other DT inspiration at the site and then go off and make something to enter.

Have fun.

Green, kraft and yellow birthday card

I made this little card today for a challenge at Soul Scrappers.  You had to add a bird. I added a little green die cut bird. As it was green that decided my colour combo of yellow, green and kraft.

Fancy frame card

Hi friends.

I have another card to share. This time it is quite girly.

For this month's challenge at Unstampabelles you will need to do the following?

#81: July Fancy frame or border

Twist - How edgy can you be?

I've chosen to use fancy frames in two ways.

The background patterned paper has been cut using my Creative Memories custom cutting system wavy frame.

I have then used my Creative Memories shapemakers, the square and the fancy frame 1" makers, with black and pink cardstock to create little framed embellishments with buttons and my sentiment.

I think the black, pink and white making a good colour combo, don't you?

Hope you join in.

Painted mug

Hello and welcome to another blog post of mine.  It's the first of July, a clear winter's day here in Perth.

For Christmas each year myself and 3 friends get together and have a drink and some food and give each other a gift.  Last year one of these friends gave each of us a mug. Two had the same pattern and two had different patterns. This is a picture of the box it came in. Inside was a paintbrush, 6 small pots of paint, some letters/numbers and the mug. It had an outlined pattern on it.

We hatched a plan to have a weekend away to paint these mugs.  Last weekend it occurred. We went down south to Yallingup and stayed in an airbnb house called The Blue House.

Image may contain: house, plant, tree, sky, outdoor and nature

Here I am sitting out the front.

Image may contain: one or more people and people standing

We all finished painting our mugs whilst on holiday.

Here is how all four mugs looked once we had finished painting them.

Image may contain: indoor

Upon my return I had to stick the letters on, then wait 24 hours for them to dry and then bake the mug in the oven for 20 minutes.  The whole process took far longer than I expected, especially the painting. Very tricky work in the lighting that we had and very fiddly. I mixed quite a few of the paint colours myself as my mug seemed to call for it. I'm quite pleased with how my dragonfly turned out.

Thanks for reading.  This project is my DT example for this month's Archiscraps challenge.

This is the inspiration picture.  Use lots of colour and the brighter the better. I hope you join in. The prize is a selection of ribbons.

We Won in Hobart!

Great news readers.

When my Chorus, A Cappella West, went and competed in Hobart last month we took away the #1 position.

There were 23 Choruses competing this year. We were the largest.  We had 82 on stage. Below is our posed picture which was taken after we had sung our two competition songs. I am on the second to back row, roughly middle left.

This year is the first year that a cup was awarded. Our Chorus' name will be the first one on it. It is quite gorgeous.

Here I am (on the right) holding it with my roommate and friend Andrea. We are dressed in our silver and black outfits that we wore in the parade of Champions.  It was nice to have a costume change.

I also wore the outfit to our after party, which we call the Afterglow.  The theme was royal wedding as it was the same day as Harry and Meghan's wedding (I watched it whilst getting ready). I just added some more bling to my outfit and some gloves and I was ready to party.

We are all excited now as we have qualified to compete at International again next year. It will be held in September in New Orleans.  We can't wait.

21st birthday card

My son turns 21 on 5 June. We've hosted a party for him yesterday.  This is the card I have made for him.

This is a photo of us taken at his party. The theme was College. He did Uni exchange last year at Ohio State. His Uni, Curtin, is a sister School.

No automatic alt text available.

This is also my design team example for Archiscraps this month.
Here is the insp pic:
Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, riding a horse, sky, mountain, outdoor and nature
You need to use two or more triangles.  I used 5, in the form of a banner.
Hope you can join in. I look forward to seeing what you make.

Birthday card

It's June already. Winter has finally arrived.

This post is for my design team example for Unstampabelles.

Here is the criteria:

#80: June - Flowers and more Flowers

Twist - Bling it up

Don't forget - no stamps!

Here is my example.

I chose just 3 colours to make a bold statement.  I've distressed the two layers of patterned paper to add texture. The bling used are Kaisercraft blue rhinestones and two of the flowers are glittery.

Hope you can join us for this challenge I know you will love and find easy.

Cheers,

Dale

It's time for the May challenge at Unstampabelles.

#79:  1, 2 and 3 items
Twist - Journal about the items in your blog

This means use items of 1, and 2, and 3 multiples.

Here is what I created.

Items of 1:  1 brown ink, 1 torn element
Items of 2: raised embellies, 2 large yellow hexagons, 2 striped patterned papers
Items of 3: 3 sizes of hexagons, 3 small hexagons

You really only need to have 1 of each number of items.

Happy creating.

Two cards, same design, different look

Welcome to May. Don't you love the first of the month when all the new challenges go up?

Here is the new challenge for Archiscraps and my design team offering.

This beautiful building is the insp pic and the challenge is to use cork.

I recently added a packet of cork butterflies to my stash.  I needed two Mother's Day cards and I love making two cards at once. If you have your stash out and want to play it takes no extra effort.  I gave the card on my left to my Nan. I also gave her a cuddle rug in dusky pink and some pink roses so the image suited.  I gave the card on the right to my Mum. I stamped the sentiment. Both quick and easy cards to make.

Why not enter a project yourself this month?
