Two thank you cards

For CC52 challenge over at Soul Scrappers you have to use embossing folders on a card.

I chose to make two cards using two similar embossed thank you images.

The ribbon on each is velvet in a lovely sage green colour which I am really loving atm.

The flower is a tulle one with copper rhinestones by Webster's Pages. Just gorgeous.

These are nice, smallish cards which can be tucked in with a gift.

Music card

I have made an elegant card for the TTT17 challenge at Soul scrappers.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by.

My first Pocket Letter

I've noticed this pocket letter/page craze happening for a while now. I've always thought that it would be fun to make one.

June's challenge at Unstampabelles is to make one or make a gift holder. The twist is to include a crown.

I started out by deciding to use pink and green as my main colours. I collected lots of items that were these colours and selected a few sheets of complementary papers as well.  I already had the trading card sleeve to put them in as I keep my ATCs in them.

For the letter portion I made a kind of envelope using my WRMK envelope maker.  I had a pretty butterfly clothing label which I added two paper circles to with some embroidery thread as the closure. I used a small tag to write on (from Kaisercraft).

This is the finished product. I am quite pleased with it.

I hope you will consider joining in this month's challenge. Remember not to use any stamps on your entry in order to be in the running for this prize.

Masculine birthday card

Look at this wonderful inspiration photo provided for this month's challenge at Archiscraps. I decided to have a go.

It is my son's 19th birthday this Sunday and I needed to create a card for him.

I chose the colour of the potted plants as my background and created a diamond pattern using my 1"square maker and some complementary patterned paper.  I added a die-cut with a vellum word and I was done. Teenage boys like simple card.

Unstampabelle's May challenge - Created my own photo frame

I've got my creation done for the first week of Unstampabelle's May challenge.

Here is the criteria and the prize.

May - Creative Upcycling TWIST use something you have had in your craft room for a year or more

Prize is a word die and 4 metal girls with balloons.

Mother's Day in Australia falls on Sunday, 8 May. Happy Mother's Day to all Mums. We deserve a special day to be appreciated for all that we do.

I made my Mum a special hanging frame. The photo was taken of us last month on her birthday. I have created a frame using the card board that comes with Creative Memories page protectors. This satisfies the upcycling criteria.  All materials are definitely over a year old. I've used Webster's Pages papers and American Crafts ribbon.

Mum loved it. She had wanted a copy of the photo and got a fair bit more than that.

Unstampabelle's April challenge

Hi everyone.

I got back from a holiday in Bali last night at midnight. We had a fabulous time. Of course there is a scrapbook of it in my future.  As a family we last went 8 years ago so it was quite a different family experience this time, especially as my eldest son is now 18.

Today we recognise Anzac Day in Australia.

Image result for images lest we forget

Now on to the reason for this blog post. Unstampabelles' current challenge is:

Time for the April Challenge! #56 Flora/Fauna, with a twist of Texture

Do you know what the term lumpy-bumpy means when scrapbooking? I came across it a few years ago and it describes exactly the idea that a page/card/journal has been loaded up with lots of texture and embellies...........

That is what this new challenge is all about

Flora and Fauna

TWIST add some extra texture!

This is the prize.

I have made 2 very different cards for this month's challenge.

This card has some embossed green cardstock and a chipboard piece which I have coloured with my Creative Memories thick pens. There is a bird and a butterfly to satisfy the fauna and some flower stickers and the chipboard flowers for the flora.

This card has a large chipboard piece which is covered in glitter with some tiny rhinestones as the texture, a large flower sticker as the flora and a butterfly for the fauna.

I hope you can join in this month. It's a fun challenge.

Farewell card

In my Chorus we have had the pleasure of the company of a temporary tenor. She is a young German lady who has been working in Perth as an au pair. I have had the pleasure of singing with her and she has the sweetest voice.  She will be leaving us shortly and travelling around Australia before returning home.

The Chorus asked me to make her a card. I know that she has done a triathalon whilst she's been here so I incorporated music and a bicycle into her card.

I've entered this in Soul Scrapper's challenge CC49 where I needed to use a sentiment in a circle on my project.

My friend is the one on the right. She is having fun performing a skit at our Chorus retreat.

I will miss her.
