Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

I Love Kaisercraft

I was so excited to see that Kaisercraft are having their Design Team Call. I've decided to apply as I would love, love, love to be on their Team. It is my ultimate scrappy dream.

I've created 3 projects for them to have a look at. They are all indicative of my style.

LAYOUT - Kinetic Rain

Firstly, I've created a layout. I've used two complementary colours and a lot of layering.  I always add journalling as I believe it makes my pages more meaningful.

The Kaisercraft products I've used are:

Patterned Paper

  • Devonshire/Clarabelle
  • Base Coat/Weathered
  • Base Coat/Bricks
  • Peachy Keen/Dandy
  • Technologic/Abort
  • Rewind/Record
Up, Up and Away Die-Cuts
Now Boarding Collectables
Wooden Flourishes/Umbrella
Hidden Treasures sticker
Periwinkle Alpha stickers
Imagine Brad

I've been using Kaisercraft for a long time. You can see from my list of products that I've used that they are all from various collections released over many years. The beauty of Kaisercraft's products is that they all co-ordinate beautifully. After I created it I re-read the instructions and it said to use product no older than 1 year. Oops. Hopefully that is mainly to show that it has been created recently. I made this layout on 27 March 2015.

OFF THE PAGE - Art Cabinet

My son and I made this project together. He needed a cabinet for School. They had to present a wunderkammer. We purchased the Kaisercraft wooden Storage Cupboard, the perfect choice for his project.

It was a wonderful project to work on together using a mix of paints, papers, wood and rub-ons from Kaisercraft. He scored high marks for it. Now I get to use it in my craft room to store items.

CARD - 50

I have created a card for a female 50th birthday.  I very recently got a die-cut machine and some Kaisercraft metal dies which I wanted to try out.  Here is the result.

This card has an interesting feature. I've cut a semi circle in it, opened it out and added decoration to it. I made this card on 30 March 2015.

Kaisercraft products used:

Decorative Die - Nested Scallop circles
Confetti pp - Witty and Cheerful
Cardstock - weave/bubblegum
Organza ribbon - pink
Pearls, snow and hot pink
Save the Date - clear stamps

Thanks for looking. Wish me luck!

Lights for Mystical's March challenge #1

We always like to go to Hard Rock Cafes to eat. We've been to many around the World. This one is on Sentosa Island in Singapore.

The March challenges at Mystical Scrapbooks are:

#1 - do a monochromatic layout. I chose red.
#2 - use 3 squares, 5 rectangles (I actually have 7) and use 6 circles as embellishments (see title).

I wrote them on the same piece of paper and combined them. Supposed to do 2 separate ones. Oh well, if I have time I may do another one.

A travel layout

I created this layout titled "Siloso Beach" today. On Sentosa Island, at Siloso Beach, they have these giant letters which just beg for photos. My sons and I climbed on top of them and Paul took some snapshots.

This layout is entered into this month's Scrap The Boys competition, which is the following sketch:

Also, it is entered into Soul Scrappers ISDTRV competition. Paula's challenge is to create a travel layout. Happy International Scrapbookers Day by the way.

Delightful - layout for Scrap the Girls

The March challenge for Scrap the Girls is a sketch. Here it is.

Now normally I would look at it and think no, too many flowers but the next photo I had prepared to scrap just happened to be me amongst a large flowery bush on Sentosa Island. Therefore, I took up the challenge.

Here is my layout. I have used some new and old products. I have used some new embroidery floss to create the circle and a new Prima Bloom spray on the old Creative Memories background paper.

I've used a mix of hand made flowers and also some tiny flowers and some Prima leaves.

Thanks for looking.

Peace and Love card - challenge at Unstampabelles

Unstampabelles challenge for March 2015 is:

Harmony or/and Peace - there are many symbols of harmony or peace but the dove is one of the most recognizable. Create anything around the theme of Harmony and/or Peace.

The twist is to incorporate flight into your article

Here is the card I made for it.

I chose to use blue and white for my colour scheme as I find those colours calming and soothing.
I cut a feather out of white vellum freehand. I scored up the middle of it to give it a little definition. Then I cut at a diagonal along each side to create the effect of a bird's feather. This is the flight element to satisfy the twist.

I added the sentiment in different letter and word stickers.

Why not join in this month at Unstampabelles? You just might win! We'd love to see your interpretation of our theme.
