I have made two cards for this  month's Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia challenge. I've been inspired by the bottom right photo as I love daisies and spring.

Glittery Christmas cards - 3

December 2015's challenge at Unstampabelles is to use glitter on a project.  A store voucher of $20 is up for grabs.

I have 3 cards to show you,

This card was actually created by my Mum.  It uses lots of very glittery stickers.

I made this card using some silver glitter washi tape. White cardstock is the base and the cover is part of a card that I have recycled from one I received last year. The lovely Donna Cope received this card.

This last card is my favourite.  The base is made of very glittery red cardstock. There is a gold fleck through it and it is very sparkly in real life.  Then we have some gold corrugated paper. On top of that sits a pink die-cut ornament with a red ribbon. The ornament is adorned with a gold glitter pattern. Lastly there is a sticker sentinment saying the magic of Christmas.

I hope you join in. We had a fabulous number of entries last month.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Glad Tidings - A Christmas carol layout

GLAD TIDINGS

I've created this layout for the November 2015 challenge at scrapbookingtop50. I got quite a happy vibe from their mood board (see below). I've used all the vibrant colours and added some patterned papers that had some shapes. The last thing I added was the little coloured circle stickers inside my inked circles which I thought matched the umbrellas quite well.

Card for Unstampabelles challenge

Unstampabelles

November Challenge #52: Anything Goes - with a twist to use a flower or flowers

We are remembering the 100th anniversary of WW1 this year, so perhaps that would fit
or you can remember a loved one. It can be a keepsake box, or a scrap page or a card.
Things happening this month are the Melbourne Cup, DiWali and Remembrance Day
(on the 11th of the 11th). The twist is to use a flower on your work.  This is the prize.

Here is what I created. I made a card using some of the Ruby Rock-It Nostalgia kit.
I've also added a pretty pink ribbon, a Bo Bunny button with embroidery floss and a
hand made ribbon rose flower.

I'm thinking I may give this to my Nan for her 93rd birthday on the last day of this year.

I hope you think of joining in this month.

A Singapore layout

It's been so nice to sit at my craft desk today and create.  Here is another page from my Singapore album. I have nearly finished it.

This one is for Pixels and paper challenge.  I have used the four blocks of colour in order for my background. They I cut a cream circle to represent the mat on the floor of the insp pic. It is also appropriate as my page is about going to dinner and it has a double meaning for me of a dinner plate.

A layout for Anna's Craft Cupboard's Nov sketch challenge

I have created a layout today for the November sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard. Here is the sketch.

November-Sketch-2015

Here is what I created.

I like green and white together. I made the butterfly using an interesting stamping technique.
Thanks for looking and happy crafting.

Christmas cards with a northern flavour

Aren't these sweet little images? I've fussy cut them from a wonderful magazine called Daphne's Diary. I've also added some background paper, a large snowflake sticker and some rhinestones.

I'm entering these two cards in a competition at Soul-scrappers

Bird layout for Archiscraps

WATERFALL AVIARY

I have created this double pagespread for my Singapore travel album. We had fun feeding some birds mealy worms. The little birds would land on our hands as we held up the tiny container of treats and eat the worms.

I'm entering this in the October Archiscraps challenge. Here's the insp pic:

The twist is to add crackle of mosaic. I chose mosaic. I've created some mosaic in 3 places on my layouts using a decorative square punch and different papers. The photos themselves also have mosaic flooring.

Thanks for looking and happy creating.

Girls, gold and glitter

A terrific challenge at Scrapbookit this month. It's girls, gold and glitter.  Here is what I came up with.

My Chorus, A Cappella West, went on retreat at Swanleigh from Friday evening til Sunday lunch time. At the end of the weekend we all jumped on the risers and took a fun photo, all 75 of us. |I love the background paper I've used for this, just perfect. I'm in the middle. I wonder if you can spot me. I have a black top on, which is a big hint. Our Chorus colours are black and pink. I actually like the gold I've used with pink to create this page. I think it's much cheerier than using black would have been.

Kaisercraft colouring competition - Dreamcatcher

Hi there,
I've spent many hours over the last week colouring in this amazing image. It is from the Dreamcatcher design from their Free Spirit colouring book. I could win a set of their Kaisercolour books. How exciting. I really hope I do.

Here is my entry. Even my family liked it. The photo doesn't really do it justice to be honest.

Hello Sunshine card

The Unstampabelles October challenge is ready for you to take.  Here is the prize you can win.

Prize

The challenge is:

The Sun! It can be rising or setting!! In Australia we start daylight saving and we get a bit more sunlight every day!  The twist is Gold! Gold! Gold!

You can make whatever you want but it must include no stamping.

Here is the card I made.

I chose to use all golden hues. I punched a row with my Martha Stewart Large Daisy Fan and used the negative pieces to create a sun in the corner of my card. I've added 3 stickers and a gorgeous ribbon that had flowers and ladybirds. I love ladybirds. There is also a tiny one on my flower's leaf. Did you spot it?

Feeds The Birds for Scrap the Boys - Oct 2015

Wow, what a beautiful mood board at Scrap the boys this month. It's just gorgeous.

I've used the wood and aqua as my main inspiration.

I have had this really pretty background patterned paper by Fab Scraps for simply ages. It was great to have a chance to use it. I've added some die cuts and washi, amongst other things to my layout.

Beautiful Blooms - double scrapbook page

Hello,

Today I have created a double page layout about flowers I saw at Jurong Bird Park in Singapore.

There were two challenges at Soul-scrappers that these pages are appropriate for so I'm entering one page in TTT9 and the other in MYC21. Head over to Soul to see the criteria.

The pages are mirror images of each other. I don't often have the chance to use many flowers in my work so it was nice to be able to for a change.

Rose Fairy card

Yesterday I tried a new technique. I wandered over to my neighbour's lawn and plucked a couple of dandelion flowers from it. These are weeds but the flowers are quite pretty and delicate.

I added inks to them and stamped them on to cream cardstock. One of the inks was glimmer mist so the card does shimmer a little. I enjoyed this technique and believe I will employ it again in the future.

I made this card for a series of challenges for World Card Making day being run by Mitzi over at Soul-scrappers. She wanted us to have a person, a thing and a place. My place is a garden, the person is the rose fairy and the thing is the flower.

Budget tip: The Rose Fairy is actually a clothing tag. I keep these to use on my cards. Some of them are stunning as they are or they can be embellished easily. I just added some twine.

Father's Day card for Papercrafter's Corner week #117

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 117 Inspiration Pieces (image)

Steph from Papercrafter's Corner chose two magazine covers for Magazine Monday this week because she wanted to give twice the inspiration but she is also awarding two prizes.

I chose to combine the two covers for my card. Why not? I have the fish with the large lips and the portholes are like the Astronaut's helmet, are they not?

ACW - Australia Day, a layout for CSI #176

How fabulous is this week's CSI case file? I could have gone so many ways with this one. I almost feel like I should do more than one entry.

Anyway, I looked at the colours and knew just the photo to use. I already had it printed and sitting on my craft desk.

Here is my layout.

I have all the colours in the scheme, plus a hint of green. Hope that's allowed. It was on the background paper and I've covered it up as much as possible.

Evidence : music elements, stitching (faux), I have a large white oval underneath the doily, there's a flourish and some red enamel dots.

Testimony : Document something you do for entertainment. Well, I sing in a Chorus called A Cappella West and we entertain others although it is also very pleasurable for me as well. I've used the inspiration words song and music. I've added a list of our set list that we sang.

Thanks for looking. Thank you so much to those that make a comment. I do read them and enjoy them. Makes my day.

Bird Show - A layout for Jot's September 2015 mood board

September Mood Board - Jot Magazine

Such a bright mood board to work with. I saw the little bird and had to join in.

I started my layout by choosing a Webster's Pages background that perfectly matched the mood board. I chose some more papers to match and it came together very easily.

Masculine cards

Hi all.

This month's challenge at Unstampabelles is to make some masculine cards. It can be for any age male. The twist is to write about what you think makes a good masculine card.

For me, I usually make them either very simple or sport themed.  I know that my boys won't give them to their friends unless they are very simple. If  you don't add a sentiment then it can be for any occasion as well. If they are sport based they could be for your child's sport coach or a Teacher.

I've chosen sport based for my example. I also think, you've made all the effort to get all your stuff out, why not make two or three instead of just one. Makes sense, hey?

I've used Graphic 45's Good Ol' Sport papers on a kraft base.

I've used my CM hexagon maker to punch out 1" shapes of the various papers. On the card on the left I inked around the shapes with red, I used green on the card on the  right. I added a banner with twine, plus a Bella Diecut that matched the papers quite nicely.

Why not have a go? Add to your stash of cards. If you don't normally make masculine cards, here is your chance to challenge yourself. This is the prize you can win.

CSI 174 N.Y. Icon

September 2015 - CSI 174

Another travel CSI challenge, you beauty.  Here's my layout.

174 N.Y. Icon

I simply love the Chrysler building. It's a really stunning design. You can see it from all over the City and at night time it lights up and looks even prettier.

I have all the colours from the scheme.

My evidence is globe, map, travel, metal (the brad), something woven (I wove a mat of some 6x6 papers as a feature) and a starburst (top right).  I thought the woven mat looked a bit like the base of the scene.

For testimony I documented something about a location and used the inspo word World.

I really enjoy the CSI challenges. Have you had a go at them?

Thanks for looking.

Singapore layout - Show Time

This layout is for Challenge #1 of the Counterfeit kit challenge this month. This is my second layout for this challenge. You must use a white base for your layout.

I decided to use soft earthy colours to match the photos.

Artistry quartet produce a double page spread

I combined my two hobbies earlier this year. I put together a quartet to sing a song and produce a scrapbook double page layout at the same time. We performed the skit at a Chorus retreat earlier this year.

I pre-prepared the pieces and backed them with double sided tape and had them laid flat on a table in front of us on the stage. As we sang the song we held up a piece each in turn and then stuck them to the pages until we had sung through the song twice and completed the layout. Then we held it up so the audience could see the finished product.

The hand was actually produced using Karin's gelli plate. She and I had fun making it in her studio one day. We didn't do it with this project in mind but it was clear that it would work perfectly.

I did have a Chorus member from each part of barbershop but our tenor was unavailable so another bass filled in for us.

Singing the nursery rhyme 1,2,3,4,5  Dale, Karin, Erica and Andrea put together a page to illustrate the song.

Andrea, Karin, Erica and Dale with their masterpiece

The finished page

I'm submitting this layout in this week's Papercrafter's Corner Monday magazine challenge (week 114). I picked up on the blue and orange in the cover. Also, the top  blue and side strip of orange, plus the turtle's shell all look like fish scales.

CSI #173 - Bird's Eye View layout

The birds are what made me play along with this week's case file at CSI.

I was just about to scrap a page about the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. Serendipitous.

Here's my page.

173 SG Bird's Eye View

The Scheme: all colours used
Evidence: leaves, animals, slant something and I created a pocket
Testimony: hand write on leaves. I created leaves from hand cutting vellum and embossing them

Here's a close up of the leaves I made.

Thanks for looking. Come back again some time.

Cheerful card for a friend

Counterfeit kit challenge have their 3rd challenge up. It is:

Word Challenge:  Do a project based on the word FRIENDS

This didn't fit into my Singapore travel album layouts so I had to do a card. One must not forget the inside of the card so it is decorated too.

Set of 3 kraft cards

CC44 Kraft frame cards

Who likes kraft? I've made a set of 3 cards from kraft for challenge CC44 over at Soul-scrappers, which was set by Mitzi. You had a to use frames.

I've cut some frames from one piece of very snazzy pp. You can see I've used both sides, the back on the left, the front on both right hand cards.

I bought a new punch for $5 at Spotlight this week. It punches out a flower and embosses it. Bargain.

Thanks for looking. Hope you have a crafty day.

Layout #2 for Counterfeit kit challenge

COUNTERFEIT KIT CHALLENGE

Ch#2 - Use a wrapping paper as your inspiration.

This was a new one for me. There are some lovely wrapping papers available. I used one I had in my cupboard. I think it matches my Witchery top quite nicely. It is a top I bought whilst in Singapore.

Here is my layout. I have used a lot of small flowers. Luckily I included some papers with small flowers in my kit.
