KC Base Coat layout

I love the Base Coat ranges, a lot. I was so happy working with the original Base Coat range today.
Here is my layout called Horse & Boy.

Screen shot 2013-10-24 at 10.37.19 AM
This layout is for two challenges. It turns out they worked together beautifully.

The first is the November sketch #5 for Kaisercraft. You had until tonight at midnight to do it so I hopped straight on to it.
Everything I've used for the layout is by KC except the alphas. They're by CM.

The second is for LIFT7 at Soul Scrappers. We had to lift the following layout:

You can see how similar the two challenges are.

I've used two of the Base coat patterned papers as my base. I distressed and then inked them. I wanted to match them to my photo of the painting of the horse and boy. I've added two KC wooden frames which I have painted. I thought that these were appropriate as my layout was about art. I have used some of the handy strips from the 12" base coat papers. So pleased when a Company does this.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapping challenges

MYSTICAL SCRAPBOOKS

I have a tutorial using inks and budget products to make a layout up on the Mystical blog here. Take a look.
My challenge is still current and you have until the 16th of December to make up a layout using my pink, gold and white mood board.

Watch our for a new challenge at Archiscraps tomorrow. It's Christmassy. November's winner will also  be announced.

My next Soul Scrappers challenge goes live on the 5th. It is also Christmassy.

Chance : Jason Momoa

WEEK 8
SBT50 MONOPOLY CHALLENGE

I rolled a 4 this week, which was chance. You had to use a film strip or poloroid frame on your page, plus pick one of the other challenges to do. I chose challenge 1 which was:

Here is my layout:

I started out with white cardstock and took the lids off many different co-ordinating inks and flicked the tube attached to the lid across the paper. I didn't at that point even know what photo I was going to use. Then, I remembered I had this truly wicked photo of Jason Momoa that I had from Comic-con this year. It certainly is lots larger than 6x4. I added the film strip from the Kit I bought at the start of this Monopoly challenge as more of  a design element. I also had some washi tape that was a film strip which I've added, plus 2 more washi - top right.

Central London layout

I could not have asked for a more perfect base for this layout than this October Afternoon paper which depicts the Royal Atlas of England & Walks.  My layout is about us walking about the City of London. There is no better way to get to know a new place than to walk its streets.

This layout is to be included in my 2010 UK trip album. I created it today from the inspiration magazine cover for week #30 at Papercrafter's Corner.  Here is the mag pic:

My inspiration came from the layout of the pictures and writing. I also wanted to use the colours of cream, red and green as well. I also wanted to add a few words as there is so much writing so I've got a few stickers with writing on and a travel quote on vellum. I also like that my base paper is covered in words (street names) as well.

Set of 3 Christmas cards

ENTRY FOR JOT MAGAZINE

Challenge 3 – Yana’s Glittery Christmas Card

JotYanaSmakulaCardMerryChristmas14large
Your challenge: share with us your sparkly, glitter card inspired by Yana’s tutorial.

Why do one card when you can do three?  I have 3 special friends who I get together with each Christmas and have a drink, a nibble and exchange gifts. This year I am hosting the event at my place. I wanted 3 cards, one for each friend, which were similar, yet different.

I have the white cardstock base, the red and white patterned paper, the red is flocked and really pretty in real life. The top two cards have Merry Christmas all glittery and the bottom card has sparklet centres.

A Christmas scrapbook page for Wk#7 at SBT50 Monopoly comp

I rolled a 3 which is Family Close at SBT50's Monopoly challenge this week.

I just love this photo of my son, Aunt and Nan. Damon has grown so much taller than my relies, which isn't hard as they are only around 5 foot tall. But they wanted a photo with him and everyone had such great smiles. I think Damon looks really very handsome as well.

I've used a row of felt hearts to satisfy that element. I wanted them to pop a bit so I've picked up the blue colour of Damon's shorts and used a torn piece of paper to highlight them.
The quote is gorgeous. It is We live, we laugh, we play, we love. I thought this photo really suited the quote. I've written it on my chipboard journal piece.

Misted layout for SBT50 Wk 6

Week 6's challenge at Scrapbooking top 50's Monopoly competition is :

I rolled a 1 which was the above but I should have rolled a 4 because that was Doily Dale.

I focused on the misting. I took a little white paper doily from the Monopoly Kit you could purchase at the start of the competition and misted over it on my base paper with 3 different mists. I chose a CSI printable with a sentiment and it fitted perfectly into the centre of the masked impression left from the doily  misting. I'ved added my 6 resin flowers in co-ordinating colours to this as well.

I cut up the paper doily and turned it into a flower, adding a daisy flower and a crocheted centre.

I have two chipboard pieces which I've added next to the flower.

One more technique on the page is the dark purple paper behind my photo. I've taken mint green cardstock and stamped a flower using Versa watermark. Then I've added a purple paint wash to create my own background paper.

Thanks for looking.

Ladybird card using Earth Art International stamp

I learned the technique for this card from Mitzi Lutrell.  You stamp on to photo paper and run ink over the image. I then used my coloured scrappy pens to go over the outlines of the patterns of the stamp.

The stamp is a beautiful Earth Art International given to me by Jessica Griffin. Love their stamps. They are incredible. I love ladybirds too.

This card is entered into Week 29 at Papercrafter's Corner Magazine Monday. Here's the inspiration.

I was inspired by the big butterfly which is filled with different colours and images inside the wings and the brightness of the image above it.

Sporty scrapbook page
