Busy week this week for the Tiernan family.
Mark had an ensemble performance this morning which Paul and I attended. He plays the violin.
Damon plays clarinet and he has two concerts this week. It is also his birthday on Saturday. He's going to become a teenager. Yikes. His party is on Sunday at indoor go karting. Very exciting stuff.
Plenty of other happenings too.

Sea
Ooooh, very happy with this. Took me quite a while to decide what to do for the last week (wk 6) of the postcards competition at Scrap Boutique. Even pondered different ideas in the wee small hours when I should have been sleeping. Hence, only got it uploaded today, quite late for me.
I've done some stamping, inking and used some ribbons, overlays and chipboard letters. Pleased with the result.
The photo was taken down outside Sunsets Restaurant in Rockingham, WA. The occasion was my Nan's 80th birthday breakfast. It was a stunning day. She was born on the 31st of December.
Spot On
The weather man got it right this time. We've had soooo very much rain. Incredible. The sun has just peeped out. Must run off and take a photo of my latest layout.

Yikes
My 12 yo son Damon has gone on School Camp for 3 days. I dropped him off this morning. He forgot to wear his medic alert bracelet so the co-ordinator gaffer taped his wrist with the allergy warning. I hope he comes back alive, I truly do. Apparently there are also going to be thunderstorms (typical). You wouldn't know it right now as the sun is shining.

Japan - Week 5
Just completed my layout for Scrap Boutique's week 5 of the Postcards competion, which is Japan. I've done some iris folding for the fish. I've used die-cuts also. The symbol inside the flower means water. I've also used some lovely Japanese paper which I've cut to add to the flow effect I wanted.

Scrap Boutique - Wk 4 (India)
I created a double page spread for the Postcards Comp challenge. Just uploaded it.
Here is my take. The inspiration was India.

Victory is sweet, and surprising
Holy moly. Carlton doubled St Kilda's score in last night's Monday football match. The Blues were on fire, especially Waite and Betts. Saints just could not match their pace and were very inaccurate when kicking for goal. Hooray. So happy.

Scrap of your Life May Challenge 1
Here is my layout for the abovementioned challenge.
Had to use pink and orange, a frame and a bird.
My son took some photos whilst I was trying to talk on the phone.
This is the best of a bad bunch and I still don't like this one.

Cartoons? layout
I'm a blogging fool today. You can tell that hubby is not around hogging the PC.
Here is my sub for Scrap Boutique's May challenge. You had to make a grunge background and the subject was the little people and a mood of theirs. This is of Damon at nearly 1 year of age.

Winging it
Hubby just flew off on a Qantas jet into the bright blue sky and his heading over to Western Victoria to visit with his Dad. That leaves me and the two boys to it til the 16th. What do I have planned? A scrapbooking night, of course, and a clothes swap party. Very girly things. As for Mother's Day, well my Mum is sick and my Nan is not up to it so I'm having afternoon tea with some family friends. How nice of them to invite us over and I must make something yummy to take.

Unwell
The burn off gave me a throat infection. Well, I got one overnight so you could make that link but I don't really believe it. My Mum and my brother are sick too. Can't blame them either because I haven't seen them in person. I guess it is just that time of year. Inconvenient though as my hubby is about to jet over to see his Dad tomorrow morning for 8 days. Timing!

Cough, cough, wheeze
Perth is blanketed in smoke today from a burn off down south. The smoke drifted out to sea on the wind and the sea breeze has sent it to cover the metro area. Very unpleasant.

Artastic entry for May
Yesterday I got my paints out and challenged myself. I had the idea of painting some Aussie animals for my entry in the Artastic challenge for May. I had some photos from back in the 80s which I hadn't scrapped which had emus in. I used photo safe cardstock to paint and draw on. Here's what I came up with.

Footy
Mark has his first footy game this morning. He plays for Booragoon Junior Football Club. They are a great bunch of boys in his team. Hope he has a pearler. It's a nice, fine clear day for it. Good for spectators too.
Also, go Blues, get those Pies.
